Hi Everyone,

I've beed kinda bored lately and wondered
If anyone needs a code that Me and my team can make for you?
It would give me so much joy to make someone a code!
So go ahead and request something here and we will see what we can do! :)

NOTE: We can only use HTML, CSS, and Javascript(JQuery, Ajax) because yola does not allow PHP

Hi Jermiah,

Sorry about not replying. My email has gone into the bounce list - again. This means I'm not receiving any email notifications which is delaying my replies. I just went to my profile and I see every one replying yet I haven't got any emails from the Yola Forum for days. I am planning on changing my email because it keeps ending up in the bounce list for some reason.

I'll have that menu for you on here soon. Sorry for the delay.

Kind regards,
Nathan

Thank you!

Here is our site using our yolasite.com url:

www.crestviewah.yolasite.com

Compared to:

www.Crestviewah.com as our old site.

My last day with the company is friday, and I feel like this is the last great thing I've done. Thanks for all of your help, and I can't wait to get the drop-down menu set up so it's perfect! Nathan, I look forward to the code! :)

Warmest Regards,

Hi bewarethebeeman,

I'm not sure if I know what you mean. Can you explain a little more about what you mean by a domain transfer code? If you would like to transfer your domain, here is a tutorial about that: Tutorial: Transferring your domain to Yola If you want to transfer your domain away from Yola, here is a tutorial on that: Transfer your domain to a new domain registrar

Kind regards,
Nathan

Nathan,

I think he may be referring to this:

http://www.yola.com/tutorials/article...

Down the page, it explains something about an authorization code?

Just trying to help! :)

@Jeremiah: Thanks Jeremiah.

@bewarethebeeman: You'll have to get the EPP/authorization code from your current domain registrar to transfer your domain to Yola.

Hiya yes I do need a code. I think it's javascript but I could be wrong. I need a code that does this:

There is a button that sais 'skip offer' , and once clicked, text appears saying 'wait 20 seconds' as well as this image : http://moviereviews.com/images/loadin...,
and a 20 second countdown timer. when those 20 seconds end, the page redirects you to another site. is that possible? thanks

This is possible with JavaScript and will see if I can set this up in about 3 hours.
I know how to make a countdown but i need a redirect script which is not hard to make either :)

Could you answer these questions:

1, Whats the HTML of the Button
2, What URL do you want it to direct to.
3, Do you want a plain countdown or would you like me to add some style using CSS

YES,
Go to your Site Tracking Code and add this under header:
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

And so add the code below in the header,
That's it :)
This will make the old menu go away and will add the new one.
Please tell me if you need any more help.

Best Regards,
Shawn

Got your code done,
Add this code in the header part of the site tracking code:

Hi Jeremiah,

Sorry about this. Here is the code of my menu. Put this into an HTML widget on every page you want the menu to appear:

<style type="text/css">
#navcontainer {
text-align:center;
width:100%;
}
/* remove the list style */

#menu, #sys_navigation { display:none; }

I had to put some of the links in a "More" dropdown since they weren't all fitting on the page. I hope that's okay. Here's a preview: http://tester3.yolasite.com/menu.php

That looks awesome! I hate to ask, but I think the "more" section may deter people from looking at our hours, etc. Can we add a menu item between home and services page titled "About Us" that contains the "Staff," "Tour the Clinic," "Location," "Hours," and "Pharmacy" pages? I think this will allow it all to fit on one line.

I understand if there is not time, just thought I'd ask. Thank you so much for everything.

If it's possible, can you just reply that it can be done. Otherwise, I'll take it as it is.

Again, thank you so much!

Yes,

The code I'm going to give you will include two var,

One for the redirect and for the seconds on the timer so you can customize the time on the timer

Hi Jeremiah,

To implement the menu to your site, please follow these steps.

1. In your Custom CSS, paste this in:

#navcontainer {
text-align:center;
width:100%;
}
/* remove the list style */

#menu, #sys_navigation { display:none; }

#nav {
margin:0;
padding-left: 0px;
list-style:none;
font-family:arial,sans-serif;
}

#nav #tab-1 {
border-top-left-radius:20px;

3. Click "Save" on the HTML Widget.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 on each page of your site.

I hope this helps.

If you have any issues with this, please let me know.

OK, What I need you to do is go to the Site CSS and add this:

<style type="text/css">
.sys_navigation{
display:none;
}
</style>

Still not working. Surely I am doing something wrong??

All that happens is that I have my original menu plus the old menu above it.

Plus, in Nathan's example page, he had the new menu that did not have the "More" selection. However, the html code posted still gives me that old menu....I need the new code, preferably that adds a gray background, and a code that will make the old menu go away.

Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated!!

I'm pretty sure your a little frustrated because it is your last day but we will fix all this. I'm going to go and get his code. But you want just a normal grey background with those colors?

Shawn, that CSS you gave him will not work because you can't put style tags in the Custom CSS.

Jeremiah, I'm going to get a whole code together that'll give it a grey background and with the new HTML and everything.

Can we give the menu a gray background? I want it to look exactly like you're example.

I'm not fully sure what your saying, are you saying you don't want an drop-down on About Us? Also, on tester3, that background is black and I'm not fully sure how that would look with your style. Could you publish your site and let me see if
it would look right with the new menu.

Thanks,
Shawn

I do want the drop down on about us. The code he posted was an older one that he had to add a more column to because there wasn't enough room. So, he changed the code on his test page to look like it does now with the drop down on the About Us section as well. However, although it looks that way on the tester3 page, my page, with the new html code he gave me, still has the "More" option. I have published my page so you can see what I'm talking about, at www.crestviewah.com

I guess what I was asking is that can we make the selections Home, About us, etc a different color other than white so that they show up better (it's hard to see the buttons I feel when it is a white button on a white background).

So, I got the old menu to go away, finally. So know really all I need is the CURRENT code for the tester3 site from Nathan so that I can add it to the html widgets on each of my pages. Compare my site (http://crestviewah.com) to the menu on the tester page (http://tester3.yolasite.com/menu.php).

I hope I'm not too confusing.

Thanks a million!

Here's the new code with the grey background and the About us tab,:

<script type="text/javascript">

$(document).ready(function () {

$('#nav li').hover(

function () {

//show its submenu

$('ul', this).slideDown(200);

},

function () {

//hide its submenu

$('ul', this).slideUp(200);

}

);

$('#nav').fadeIn(450);
$('#nav2').slideDown(500);

});

</script>

<div id="navcontainer">
<ul id="nav" style="display:none;z-index:300;">

<li><a href="index.php" class="nav-link" id="tab-1">Home</a></li>

<li><a href="#" class="nav-link" onclick="return false">About Us ▼</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="tour-our-clinic.php">Tour the Clinic</a></li>
<li><a href="pharmacy.php">Pharmacy</a></li>
<li><a href="location.php">Location</a></li>
<li><a href="hours.php">Hours</a></li>
<li class="last-tab"><a class="last-tab" href="staff.php">Our Staff</a></li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><a href="services.php" class="nav-link">Services ▼</a>

<ul>

<li><a href="boarding.php">Boarding</a></li>

<li><a href="grooming.php">Grooming</a></li>

<li><a href="dentistry.php">Dentistry</a></li>

<div class="clear"></div>

</ul>

</div>

<div class="clear"></div>

And, replace your Custom CSS for the menu with this CSS to change the color:

Sorry, I'm still working on it. But I added something cool to the example page. See: http://tester3.yolasite.com/menu.php I took a screen shot of your site, blurted out the menu in the screenshot, put it as the background image on a div and then I put the menu in the div. Just did that so we can see if the menu fits and stuff.

Hi Jeremiah,

I'm glad you like it. :)

The blue [on hover] doesn't seem to fit with the colors anymore. Would you still like that blue or would you like it to be a different color. (That will be a fast change and then I can give you the code after you answer this.)

You can select a color here: www.colorpicker.com and then copy the HEX code and then I can put that in for you really quick.

Kind regards,
Nathan

Hey,

I know I have asked a favor already but I'd greatly enjoy it if you helped me out with a tough code again. I'd really like it if you could make a code that is pretty much a input box with a submit button. When you type in something and click the button it changes the width of a .swf component.

example: You go on the website, type in '5' and hit the button and the component below changed to 5 pixels wide. Is this possible? Thanks in advance

Very easy. Could I get the code of the swf.

Then you will get you code within an hour.

Just type in 'swfgoeshere' into the place where the .swf goes, and I think I'll be manage to change it. Also, IF POSSIBLE, make so that the height could be edited as well. this is optional- you don't need to do this, but it would be nice if you could. Thank you.

Here's your code.

First add the JQuery file to an html widget:

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.6.4.js'></script>

Then below that, you want to add the HTML to an HTML widget:

<!--This is were error messanges will be shown in this element-->
<div class="mess"></div>
<!--These are the elements you need, including- the input and button-->
<input type="text" id="input"/> <button id="click">Submit</button><br><br><br>
<!--The swf object with the id, swf. Without the id it wont work-->
<object id="swf" data="SWF FILE HERE!"></object>

This wont do nothing. We put add the actual code that makes everything work, the Javascript:
Javascript should be placed under the JQuery file, but above the html.

<script type="text/javascript">
$(window).load(function(){
//All you options
//This will be the general width of the swf.
var Start_Width = 100;
//This will be the general height of the swf.
var Start_Height = 100;
//This is how much will be added to the Start_Width
var Width_Increment = 100;
//This is how much will be added to the Start_Height
var Height_Increment = 100;
//This is the text you have to enter inside the input.
var When_Entered = "Yola Rocks";

//Get the Start_Width and Start_Height
$('#swf').css({
'width': '' + Start_Width + 'px',
'height': '' + Start_Height + 'px'
});
//Get the numbers for the Increment
var height = $('#swf').height() + Height_Increment;
var width = $('#swf').width() + Width_Increment;
$('#click').click(function() {
//Two vars to get the value of the input.
//Two vars would not be needed.
var input = $('#input').val();
var input2 = $('#input').val();
//The if statement to show an error if the input is empty
if (input2 == "") {
//The Message for the empty error. You can change this if you can.
$('.mess').html('<span style="color:red;">Please Enter something inside the field</span>')
} else {
$('.mess').html('')
}
//The if to make everything work.
if (input == When_Entered) {
//.css, which in JQuery, can adjust css properties. I tryed add an
//animation effect but it would not work.
$('#swf').css({
'width': '' + width + '',
'height': '' + height + ''
});
}
});
});
</script>

Also, all the <!--TEXT HERE--> in HTML and //TEXT HERE are just Comment tags, telling you a little about the code.

Best Regards,
Shawn

Quick Tip:
The SWF object can be placed anywhere on the page. All the HTML can be placed all around however you like. As long as the Javascript is on that page with the JQuery file

Hello Shawn,
Wondered if you could assist please. Probably simple for you, but am unsure as to how to go about this. Understand if I have a website of my own could place it into a 'i-frame'. Is this correct? and how would I do. Thankyou. JC
