Hey Boomer,

No problems on our side and I can see images on the home page of http://helderberg.cc/ - could you give me a link to a specific page?

Just checked from a second PC on a seperate internet connection.
They both have the same problem - can't get into any Yola sites...
Normal surfing is fine! They are both on Vodacom wireless connections.
Very strange....could be Vodacom, but then how come its only Yola sites??

P.S. I can get into the site builder, but it does not display any images.
This has to be the strangest problem ever...

I'm sure the servers which handle Yola at the last point into SA are having some kind of difficulty, this is a typical sympton of very low bandwidth, the images are always the last to load and so in this case are unable.

It seems ok over the rest of the world so this is the only reasonable explination.

I guess a break and check back later is all you can do short of contacting a local ISP.

Don't be sad for me :(
I'm sure it's temporary. I'll try later....there's no rush.
It's time for a sundowner here anyway. Cheers!

P.S. I think you gonna have to change your name to Greece Duke soon ;)

I can't replicate this one, but I am in the land of fast internet right now (Sunny San Francisco!). I know SA internet was horrible yesterday, not sure if that is still the case. Please let us know if this does not clear up for you.

@ Marije

I'm assuming you are offline now, but can you please check in the morning (with a Vodacom connection) why we can't view any Yola sites. I know it doesn't make sense, but I can view any other site on the net so my internet connection should be fine? I've tried with six Yola sites now (four hours later) and they refuse to load....

Just me posting here should mean my connection is fine. Did you guys pay your cell phone accounts ;-) Seriously, Vodacom + Yola = connection timeout! Weird.
Check it out for yourself. Iv'e checked on two different connections with two PC's.

P.S. I just checked Lee's site http://hexham.info/ .....same story!

Boomer,

You could run tracert and find out exactly where the connection is lost.

Presuming your using a windows computer.

1. Open a command prompt window
2. type: tracert yola.com

See which server is the culpret.

or also do the same thing for helderberg.cc

I think the 2 are on slightly different servers.

But i presume its somewhere imbetween anyway that has the issue.

Just incase the routers decide i different path try both.

This is really an odd one Boomer....My guess on you being able to log into site builder is that it might be on different servers and that is why our published sites continue to work when there are problems on site builder.

208.75.208.173 - yola.com (log in)

208.75.209.79 - sitebuilder

208.75.208.172 - all our lovely sites.

But for sure its not any of those servers which have the problem - it has to be close to or in SA

Emmy and I are not seeing this problem but we are in the US. This does seem to lend credence to Lee's theory about an SA internet issue. However, our colleagues in SA are asleep right now so we can't get them to check for us. We will ask them in their morning time to see if they can replicate.

We have a number of complaints like this in support as well. The only common thread is that all of the affected users are in South Africa.

I managed to locate a South African who is still awake! (my husband as luck would have it!) He checked several Yola sites and they all time out for him. I don't know why this is happening but I will try to find out.

Hi Boomer and everyone, I've answered on the other thread (http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/web.... We've been trying to find out what's going on and it seems to be a problem with SAIX (SA Internet Exchange). We're trying to sort it out with them directly and I'll let you know of any new developments.

An update for you. SAIX (Telkom) blocked the IP address of our hosted sites - something that is beyond our control. We have logged a fault with our ISP who have logged it with SAIX/Telkom (apparently this is how it is done). They hope to get feedback or a resolution soon but as it is the weekend, it may not be fixed for a few days.

Hello Everyone,

The problem has been resolved and South African users should once again be able to view their published sites.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through this with Telkom. We will do our best to find out why SAIX/Telkom has done this and ensure that it does not happen in future.

Thanks guys,

I can see all my sites again. I was expecting a few calls this morning from customers not being able to access any diagrams on my RF Logic website,
or not being able to place an order on the RF Parts website. I picked up a nice query on that one last week btw. (400 central locking door motors)

Hat's off to Vodacom as well, who responded promptly to two of my emails and I got a call 8am this morning from an "Advanced Data Support Consultant"
There's hope after all :)
