Hello Donald,

Do not despair, you can point a domain to Yola if you have Yola Silver. So, you can register your domain with another provider such as 123-reg and point it to Yola.

Hope this helps you,

Andi

I have a domain already paid for with godaddy, but Yola doesn't have a .info option available. They took away the feature.

and why do you need Yola Silver? Why they keep making free features cost money? It's GREEDY is what it is. Can't they just leave free features free?

I can not confirm why they have made it a Silver product but I can only guess that they are trying to make more customers use the Yola Silver option.

One option that you could do Donald is set up one web page with GoDaddy and set up a re-direct so that it redirects the user to the .yolasite domain.

Hope this helps,

Andi

I have another host I can do a redirect from, but then the website is going to be a yolasite subdomain, which is unprofessional.

I was just trying to make this one site easy. Guess I'll go back to writing my codes from scratch. I can only imagine how many customers Yola has lost from making everything cost money. lol, their loss.

Hi Donald,

Free pointing was fine up to a point, but as we have grown in popularity, we have to deal with both the increased load, and the fact that we have become more of a target for hackers. While we continue to provide our hosting for free for all customers, the fairest way we could offset these costs was to include the option to point in the Yola Silver package, or offer customers the option to purchase their domain from us or transfer it. Since we are not removing any currently pointed domains we hope that the impact on our existing customers will be limited.

If you have been a customer for a long time and had a lot of value from our service, we sincerely hope that you will consider upgrading your account to take full advantage of everything Yola has to offer for your site and your business.

I don't use Yola that much any more since I've become good in writing HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. So I'm not sure if I will ever buy Yola Silver or not. But had I of been able to use it this one time for my purpose, I probably would've started using Yola again and in the future Yola Silver would be more of a possibility. But because I can't use it for my purpose at this time, Yola Silver isn't looking like a possibility - so that's one chance of obtaining money from someone.
