I am a fiber artist, and I am looking for a way to make a good website that will serve two functions: 1) provide a gallery-type thing where I can show my work 2) sell instructional patterns and supplies. Currently I use etsy but that isn't enough. I was told to use volusion but that seems more like for a big store. Can yola be used for a shopping cart as well as a gallery with descriptions, etc? Thanks :)

I have a domain name and I don't have a website. Currently it's through google apps. It will expire March 8. How do I xfr it to yola?

hello Rivkah,
A Yola built site really is an excellent place to display and describe your art work. It's a very open plan so I think quite ideal for this application.

he sales showcasing now is in the realm of being the best e-com shopping facility available. you have two classes of product: a physical product and a digital product being your patterns.
the new shop is ideal for this combination and offers you security for your digital products that is often overlooked.
I have no hesitation and confidence that Yola and the new online store will offer you the best venue and platforms to strut your stuff.

Your question in regard to your domain is straight forward. you have two choices the first being to point your domain to Yola and the registration will remain with Google. the other option is to transfer your domain to Yola and then I think you have the easiest way to manage and heavy domain needs. I think this is what I would recommend.
since your domain is near expiry there isn't a double dip of cash. Yola in the process of accepting a transfer of your domain will in effect charge you 12 months of domain registration on receipt but then they give you the following real 12 months without an additional charge. The price for a domain by Google and Yola is now similar, maybe Google just slightly cheaper.
