Can anyone tell me what the point of Aviary is? It's totally useless. It's amateurish, and all efforts to use it result in something that looks cheap and nasty. Horrible, horrible rubbish tool. Yola really need to improve on this.
We appreciate your feedback. We use the Aviary API to integrate it within our Sitebuilder, as do many other companies, including Flickr. However we are in no way associated with the development of their product so if you have specific feedback to provide, we suggest you reach out to them direct. Regarding your editing needs, your other option is to use the photo editing software of your choice prior to uploading your images to the Sitebuilder.
When I compare the Aviary Integration on Flickr with the one on Yola, I can't see any obvious difference. If there's something Flickr gets right, but Yola doesn't, could you please specify this?
As much as I understand Fabian's post, he's not complaining about errors, but the quality of the Aviary features. In terms of that, Laura's explanation and suggestions should help.
Please also note that the built-in Aviary feature is not designed to replace sophisticated image editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, etc. It's a basic tool made for users who don't have the time to spend hours on editing images before adding them to their site, but to achieve quick results and go online as fast as possible. The best way to achieve professional results for images is to pre-edit them with a more powerful image editor. There are two free online tools which I can recommend:
