I've been told and have read that having a blog on your site will help no end in getting google to notice your site and push it up the rankings to the front page of a search.

What I want to know is, does your blog have to be in the navigation (or somewhere fairly obvious on your site) to get noticed by google? Or will google just crawl the whole site, see there is a blog page (is there a difference in the way the page looks?) and every time it comes back sees that it has grown (the blog content) and then see it as an active site and start raking it better?

Hello Will,
Search engines follow links so it is important that there are links to your blog page so that the search engines can get there. Having it on your main navigation is a good idea, this will make sure that each of your pages has a link to your blog page and that your site visitors can easily get there.

Emmy, I'm a novice and I am wanting info on how/where I copy and paste the text to allow google ranking info on my site www.mangolagoonprivateapartments.com
I have a feeling that this is probably going to be too technical for me (but I did learn heaps when I set up my free Yola Site! :)
Do I perhaps paste the google text in my 'banner'?
He, he.... probably not!?
Any info (in basic terms..) very much appreciated.
Cheers
Pip
