I have a blog, and in my content sidebar, it has an input box for "blog description". I filled that out, but the blog description does not show up anywhere on my blog.

Also, my RSS feed title is "index".

How do I address these issues? Thanks.

Hi Daniel,

Have you published your blog? Could you post your URL so that we can take a look?

By 'blog description' are you referring to the area in the Properties area of the sidebar on the right? Content entered into this field is metadata that describes your page to search engines (if you hover your mouse over the word 'description' more information will appear). You can see the description you entered if you right-click on your published site and click on 'View Source'.

The RSS feed title is called 'index' because this is the filename of your home page.

Ok, is there a way to get the blog description underneath the title in the header?

You could try adding to to your title, though this may make it a little long. The style you have selected doesn't have a customisable banner, so that's the only thing I can think of at present.

Hello Vickiaubin,
The name of your index page needs to remain index, this is necessary so you website will open to the correct page. However, you can change how the page displays on your navigation to read something other than index. To do this, click on the "Edit Navigation" button, find the index page, click the down arrow of "Settings" and change the "Menu text" and "Hover text". I hope this will help!

Hi Emmy. Am I correct that I can change it there....but on all my blog feeds to feedburner, Google reader, whatever- it will still show up with title "Index"? And last question, for feeds, do i have to feed from the Index page itself, or can I feed content from another page (if I create one)? Thanks.

Hi Vicki,
Yes, you are correct, it will change the name on the menu, but not the actual page name, that page name will remain index. You can make your blog any page you would like, and when that page is a blog, it will feed from that page as it has the option to have the "Subscribe to this blog" button.
