i recently bought a new mini laptop and when i log onto the yola site to manage my blog posts, my blog manager says i dont have any posts to manage, yet my blogs posts are on my index page to be read. including the one i just wrote on the mini laptop and saved from. when i log onto the yola site on my old laptop, the blog manager lists all my blog posts to be edited, including the one i wrote on the new mini laptop. how weird is this. the computer shouldnt matter should it. its the site that holds the information. why wont the site list my blog posts in the blog manager when on my new laptop? but it still shows the updated info otherwise on the pages. and everything is normal and fine when i access the site on my original laptop, all my posts are there in the manager to be edited?

Thanks for testing this Bethany. So the issue seems to be around your new laptop. Can you tell me what browser you are using? There is currently an issue with IE8 were your text doesn't appear, in your case your blog posts. If you have recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 8, click on the Compatibility View button of your browser (next to the refresh button) and add Yola to the Compatibility settings. For more information, see: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/inte.... This should correct the problem. If not, please get back to us.

Hi,

I'm sorry you are having this problem, can you try a few things for me:

1. Log out of the site buider and come back in again.

2. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear your browser's cache.

3. Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer). We would suggest using the Firefox browser as this browser seems to work best in the Yola environment. It is a free download if you would like to give it a try: Download Firefox.

If this doesn't help can you give me a more detailed description of the error message you received. Thanks!

Emmy

Hi Kershnee,

Can you look at Image containing posts.

If I include an image as the first item in the post the index won't work. ie: If I click the topic takes me to another part of the blog. English language also.

Hi Peter,

I will have a look at this on your Blog. Are you referring to your "more-blog" page?

Yes Kershnee. Correct.

I also did a test run using English completely. Same outcome. (Subsequently removed)

You can see the outcome if you look at the post dated May 20.

Thank you for looking at this.

Hi Peter,

I had an engineer take a look at this issue. It is possible for you to re-post the post? This might resolve the issue.

Let me know if it works.

Kershnee,

It's not going anywhere near loading an image. Doone all teh normal clears and restarts. Just loading, loading, loading when I hit the image button.

Thanks Monique,

Just to re-iterate: I'm simply duplicating the post into a new one and will post it as a new post. The image won't "get".

I did the following:
1) Created a new, blank blogpage.
2) Created a new post and added an image as the first item.
3) Tried to create a second post. The "new post" failed to load. See screenshot below:
Does that sound something like what you experienced?

More testing:

After adding the image post, any dialog I attempt to open thereafter hangs (file manager, blog manager, new post etc) But if I close the dialog and try again I am successful.

Puzzled and testing some more. . .

I can get the image to load, but the site builder definitely seems to struggle, due the the "hang" situations I am getting. It might be a different symptom with the same root cause, although that would be unusual. Can you tell me what image type you are using? (mine was a png)

gif here, but never even got the opportunity to nominate the image file. Simply hitting the image button put it into eternity :)

Wow - definitely worse than what I am seeing. Can I ask the obvious dumb question: could you log out and in again and create a new blank page and let me know if you can replicate?

Ok, tested it. Unfortunately I was unable to replicate the image loading issue or the failed load of a new post.

Thanks Kershnee,

I have performed Monique's suggestion and created a new site with a blog page. I then created a post identical to that labelled 20th May in ../more-blog.

This worked. I was able to click the post and get full access to the blog and Disqus.

I then went back and created the same in ../more-blog. I was then able to place an image in the post. (plus text). The post was functional 100%.

I then went to the post of 20th May and clicked the heading. I have the old problem of the index being out of whack and not going to the correct post.

So in summary the new post works perfectly. Old posts are still affected.

I'm delighted and thank you for attending to this Kershnee

Hi Peter,

Thank you for trying out the different suggestions.

I do know there was a fix done for the posts going to the wrong blog posts. I would need to chat again to the engineer and find out about your old blog posts and how we can fix this.

The engineer is currently offline, therefore I can only chat to him tomorrow. I will get back to you as soon as I have more info on this.

Thank you for your assistance and patience with this issue.

Hi Peter,

I have some good news for you. Your image post and all older posts have been fixed. All you need to do is update your site for the changes to reflect on your Live site.

All thanks needs to go to our wonderful Engineers (Bearnard and Christo) for fixing this.

A long while ago, I had sent an e-mail regarding my blog post. It had to do with the fact that when you post a slideshow, the "new post" button doesn't work. Support had stated this was a bug on their side. This bug still has not been fixed. Any possibility of someone taking a look at this? I should mention that it is fine in IE, but it just doesn't work in FF.
