Blog Post View Counter

Is there any way to record the number of visits to each of my blog's posts and display this count on next to the title of each post. So example:

POST TITLE (100 Views)

Does Yola's blog record in anyway the amount of visits to each post and is there any way to access this information?

If not, could this be done through disqus; a bit like their API for accessing reaction and comment counts.

Ideally I would like to extend the set-up I have on my home page: www.jesararts.net By not only having the reaction and comment counts but also a view counter.

Alternatively could this be achieved through Google Analytic's data on views per/page?

Hi Jeremy,

Yola's analytics do not currently allow for this. I am not familiar with what Disqus offers but if I am understanding you correctly, I do think that Google Analtyics is a possibility. You would at least be able to see the post views in your reporting if not automate it to promote your posts. I'm afraid that part may have to be manual unless you find a third party widget that meets your needs.

Disqus do offer this and the instructions are on their site Jeremy.

Google Analytics also has a procedure to search down into the Blog and identify the posts viewed. I think that you can develop a facility then to extract this but I really don't know how you could then present it back to a specific Yola post as Laura has pointed out?

Sorry GOP I looked at the Disqus website and I can't find anything particularly relating to post views under their API page. Do you have a link maybe?

API page: http://disqus.com/api/docs/

There's something else I can't find in the installation setup that allows you to count also. I can't find it at this time. In fact I find the Disqus site quite difficult to work my way around :) I always seem to come back to the same starting place and never see the extent :(

I'll keep hunting and see what I can find on it.
