Hello! One year ago, I have contract one domain with my Free website. Now I have received a message that I have to pay for my Bronze subscription, when I never ask it. Please, could you tell me how I can change it?
Than you very much.

Hello magartstudio,

Yola have changed the system last month.

If you have a custom domain then you need to buy a hosting plan to publish your domain. Without a hosting plan, in this case Yola Bronze, you won't be able to publish to your domain.

The old system, which is no longer operating, included the hosting fee with the domain.

For previous subscribers there is a discount for the first year's hosting and the price works out about the same as you would have paid previously I think.

I have a similar issue. i signed up to yola free, but when I checked my subscription it says Bronze. I assume its because I was checking to see if a domain name was available and clicked "get".

I thought I was only checking though. When I looked at the pricing, there is a charge for the domain name (which i would be prepared to pay for) but not the hosting fee of $5 per month.

I have reverted to a subdomain for my website.

How do I make sure I don't get landed with a bill for something I don't want?

Help!

Hello Richard,

The doubt on double billing is always a concern for e-com transactions I agree.

With Yola all you would need to do is to send an email to Yola (support@yola.com) if this occurs or if you feel concerned that this may occur. Yola will respond to these queries quickly.

Thank you very much Gop!
I think it's important to keep customers informed. I have not received any notification about this change and I think it is wrong to do it this way.

Yola are always sending information that is not important, but in this case have not been able to send an email informed of this charge.

Thank you very much.

Hi magartstudio,

We did send out email with information regarding the changes that took place. It would have been sent to the email used for your Yola login or the email used when you registered your domain. It could also be possible that our email ended up in your spam folder.

In any case, we are sorry that you were caught unawares. Please do let us know if you have any further questions. We would be happy to answer them.

Hi - thanks guys for the responses. I emailed the support team and Diane was very helpful in her reply. It turns out I get free hosting and domain name for the first year because I signed up to the Get Your Business Online program. I am a lot more happy now.

I agree with magartstudio that customers should be informed of changes to pricing policy, and if it could be made a little clearer for those who signed up to the free first year, that would be good.

But the web design features are excellent, and even worth paying for, providing we know in advance what we are going to get charged. This is particularly important for small businesses I think.

Thanks Richard

Hi Richard,

I'm glad that Diane was so helpful!

We appreciate your feedback and just so you know, we did send out emails informing people of the changes.

However, if you have opted out of receiving Yola updates, then, you may have missed receiving these notices.
