Hi Anushka,

You can create subdomains using the Advanced Domain Settings and setting up A Records, here's how:

1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Sites" page.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick the box next to "Enable advanced domain settings".
3. You will be scrolled back up to the top, click on "Advanced domain settings".
4. To access the domain settings, click on [Details] next to the related domain.
5. To access the A Record, click on [Edit this?] next to DNS Entries.
6. To add an A Record, make sure that "A" is selected next to "Add a new DNS Record Type" and click on the "Add" button.
7. Under "Name" add the subdomain you would like to use (eg. group).
8. Under "Value" add Yola's IP address (208.75.208.172).
9. Your subdomain is then available as www.group.mysite.com (for example).
10. You will be able to publish a new site to that subdomain by choosing "Already own a domain name" when clicking on "Publish my Site".

For more information on accessing the DNS Settings on your domain, please view this tutorial: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/dns-for....

Hi Anushka,

Once you've entered the A Record, then you will be able to publish the new site to that domain.

1. Click on "Publish my Site"
2. Click on "Already own a domain name"
3. Enter the new subdomain (eg group.mysite.com)

Is that the info you were looking for?

Hello Anushka,

You have already a domain lets say anushka.com
You would like to add a sub domain to this so that the subdomain is called:
shop.anushka.com
Follow Marije's instructions to Step#7.

At Step#7 add your sub-domain name shop
Then perform Step#8.
Now you will have your new sub-domain: shop.anushka.com

You can now create a new web page and then publish it to your new sub-domain as directed in Step#10.

Anushka - would you mind giving me your domain name so that I can look it up and see what settings have been added?

Hi Anushka,

I think I spotted an error in my steps that only allowed to create a subdomain for http://techzine.robotixindia.com/ and not http://www.techzine.robotixindia.com/. I fixed this on our side and your subdomain should be working.

It may still be propagating through the internet - can you give it a few hours? You can also try clearing your browser's cache (http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Bro....

Revised steps - see the addition of the second A Record to accommodate for an address with and without 'www'.

9. Add another A Record, under "Name" add *.name (eg. *.group).
10. Under "Value" add Yola's IP address (208.75.208.172).
11. Your subdomain is then available as group.mysite.com (for example).
12. You will be able to publish a new site to that subdomain by choosing "Already own a domain name" when clicking on "Publish my Site". You can choose to publish it to http://group.mysite.com or www.group.mysite.com.

Hi Marije,

Would just like to clarify this completely.
