Button help

I created some buttons for my site that has a mouseover effect. I uploaded the images to my site's file manager. I just want to be clear on where the location of these files are. Is it "resources/"my file name"? Furthermore, when I did put in that address, the image did come up fine. But, when published, it disappears. This makes me think that I did not put in the address correctly. Or do I have to upload the images to a hosting site like photobucket for the button to work?

Hi Littleus,

Is this request still outstanding or have you worked it out?

Hi littleus

The path to your image is yourdomain/resources/filename. Remember that if you have placed the imaged inside a sub folder, you need to include this in the path. It should work without needing to host your images elsewhere.

Let us know if you still need help with this.

Hey guys... yep still need help here.

I added in the full path but now my image has disappeared totally. This is what I put down. I'm sure I'm just missing something simple:

< img src="http://littleus.synthasite.com/resour..." onmouseover="this.src='http://littleus.synthasite.com/resour..." onmouseout="this.src='http://littleus.synthasite.com/resour..." / >--!>

Ohh... I am so silly! I think I know what the problem is... I put down the wrong domain site. I forgot that I was in a different site than my usual one. I'll give it a try again. It should hopefully work now.

Okay.. so I put in the proper domain name and now the image shows up. So, how do I now make it link to a page? This is currently the code I have to make my mouseover work:
<! -- < img src="http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." onmouseover="this.src='http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." onmouseout="this.src='http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." / > -- !>

hey littleus - are you trying to make it into a link?
add this
<!--
<a href="http://YOURSITE/PAGE">
<img src="http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." onmouseover="this.src='http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." onmouseout="this.src='http://littleustestsite.synthasite.co..." / >
</a>

-->

you could also add alt text and if you want to make it open in a differnet window/tab then add target="blank"

Change YOURSITE/PAGE to the full url of the page you wnat to open.

Worked perfectly! Just added in the <! --< img style="border-width:0px">--!> to get rid of that pesky black border thing. (Got this from that other thread when I posted about my pop-up menu - see.. I'm learning!) Thanks so much!

glad it worked littleus - go and mark it 'This answers the question' for the next person who has this problem, I'm glad the border tip from the mail subscriber box thing helped out as well. You really are learning alot, and you remember it, thats the main thing. Lee.
