I've put some different menu in some of my sites. You can see a sample of these working at http://www.shoppealots.com/ and http://loydsworld.com/ . These require a code that you can get at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicin...

Some of the codes need a js. file that can't or will not operate on Yola at this time. If you have time you can look and play around with them to do different colors and color changes by hovering over them.

This site http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicin... has several other codes for various things and instruction for building and changing code.

Hello Mary,

The real issue is creating the menu. You can't replace the item name appearing with a new graphic of a button. The area on any style menu that Yola has is an area of the template you don't have access to.

What I would suggest is that you select a style from the choices with a horizontal menu. see this style selction sheet: http://www.yola.com/synthasite-style-...
Create a new page and deselect the "Show in navigation"
Then create a vertical menu. For this creation you can use your own buttons. Save your page.

You have to do this for each and every page that you require a menu for. You can see that ,many of your pages will have the common feature of the menu and the work of repeating the menu creation is tedios. To overcome this you can open the first page you created and then use the "Save As" function. To access this there is a down arrow on the RHS of the save icon. Save as is seen on the drop down menu that appears. Give this saved as page a new name that you intend .

With this done you may then go and edit each of your pages and add the specific content.

back to the button generation you have been well supplied with great suggestions and alternative resources for this.

In summary:

For a manual Vertical made menu, select a style with a horizontal auto menu
Deselect "Show in navigation"
Create your menu for this Index page and it will be used as your master template. Save it.
Use the the "Save as" function for all pages that you intend to have this menu on. Change the name for each new page using this technique.
Add your appropriate content to your intended pages.

Good luck with this Mary.

We're all here if you need any help or clarification.
