I have a bronze package (and can have 5 websites).
I have a storefront as well. Is there a way to have the one store front, serve more than one website; but, not have the merchandise that is available in one site accessible to the other sites.
When I asked about the storefront, I was told that I could use it for all webites in my account; but the same merchandise comes up.
I would like to have control of which products are available to each website.
Is there a way to do that.

Hello Fred,

The answer is yes.

The best way to control the items displayed is by the use of categories. When you drop your Store onto a website page you can then select the category you wish to display. The default is all but moving down it offers you the various categories you have added into your product listing.

For example if you have say 1000 items in your inventory and 100 of these you've categorised as Food, 100 as Hardware, 100 as Clothing, 200 as Electronics etc then you can simply select any of these categories say Clothing into one website and into another you can select Electronics. This then separates the other categories so that they won't be displayed inappropriately. You can however use the same category(ies) on multiple websites without exclusion.

You can see the process in the tutorial Online Store: Categories and multiple stores

Hello and thanks for the info.
I have already kind of tried that; but, I find that allows me to set which category comes up as a default when the store is open.
The only problem is that when the sore front page is open, It shows: Category: Store > "the deafault Category"
If one / the customer clicks on "Store"; it takes the customer to the whole store of all the categories.
If one could disable that "store" link or create multiple stores, then that would work.

I have a site that i sell vinyl records and another that I sell (well hopefully sell - I actually have not sold anything through the websites yet) antiques.
They have different names, so I do not want merchandise from one to be visible on the other.
Right now I only have records for sale.

Hope you have an other solution or can tell me what i am doing wrong.

Thanks Fred,

Yes you can also drop the breadcrumb/link 'store'.

Nothing you are doing wrong at all. Just requires a little bit of editing in the store code to correct. This is easily managed and wondering if you can give me till tomorrow on this solution. I have a lesser important task but something I have to attend to :). I will give you the solution and directions here if that's OK?

Gop.

Hello Fred,

As mentioned you need to alter the so called breadcrumbs How to alter your breadcrumbs: Removing the "Store" link

Editing the CSS is done within the Store module and not within the Yola edit css module. To do this please see the KB article:How do I change Ecwid CSS?

Hello Fred

Please note that the suggestion Gop has provided is working, but still a workaround. You will literally just have one Yola Online Store which affects the product URLs of your other products and customer messaging, such as e-mails and invoices. Your Yola Online Store can only have one URL and one name, which will be part of the URLs of your other products and the e-mails sent to your customers. I'm afraid that it's currently not possible to have multiple/separate Yola Online Stores per one account. To have this, you would need to sign up for another Yola account and upgrade to Yola Online Store in order to have two really separate stores.
