Can a website be transferred to a different user account? As my term in a volunteer organization end, I will need to pass the webmaster duties to another person.

Just give them your current log in info and the new person can change the e mail account info.

Hi Jim
Unfortunately there is no way to transfer a single site between two accounts. It is only possible to change the login details for a whole account as John has explained.
The best solution is to create a new account for the person you want to hand the site over to and build that site in their account from the beginning. And then give them the login details when you are ready for the hand over. I am sorry that this advice is not terribly helpful to you at this stage.
Hopefully we will introduce a better solution for this in future, as we want to make it possible for people to build sites for others and hand them over for the new owner to maintain.

Has a more elegant solution been developed for this requirement yet? Its a key piece of functionality for anyone using Yola to build sites for others.

Yes, I'm interested too! I have built quite a few websites for others, some of whom need to be able to maintain their site themselves. Now, they all have access to all sites!

I was about to ask the same!!!! I want to build and gift a website for a year for someone, but then they must be able to maintain it on their own Yola account. I dont want to have to do it forever. This has happened with more than one site. Currently I have hosted and kept the sites for two years. But it is enough now. I want to be able to transfer the sites to the people's own Yola account (which they don't currently have...I know, silly right? I'm sure if I could transfer the website to them they would have one though...I think they are just scared to get started or something...) and then they can continue to pay for the yearly domain name renewal and do their own site maintenance.
This will cause a few headaches for Yola at first, but I anticipate that it may broaden your clientele base in the long run considerably and could generate more revenue in a big way.

Just make a new Yola account with a new e mail account you give to the new owner...problem solved. They can change the e mail account later if they wish. We are talking five minutes work.

Hello,
KanThaiDecor is right, if you create the new account with the new owner's email address you can contact us at support@yola.com after January 2nd we will be able to transfer the site into the new account. If you need to purchase the domain, you could also publish to the domain and we could do a change over to the new owner, however, it it might be easier if we get the site transferred and the new owners buy the domain and hosting package and you reimburse them. Would that work?
Kind Regards,
Emmy
