Hi! I made this website for my Sensei and well, it's pretty simple and kind of lame but I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions to help me improve it or make it more formal or creative, etc. Any ideas? Please and thanks so much!

Hello there. Do like the blue of the template you have chosen, just a quick comment, perhaps use a different font for general text than the one you are using in your text, the one you have used is fine, but for some people it is easier on their eyes using another (perhaps Arial/Verdana/ or ?).
Just a few comments - on first page it would be nice to have a photograph, perhaps of one of your classes?? (ensure you have permission from the people in the photo to reproduce them for use on your site). the map for location has been used quite a few times, and feel this is only necessary either on your contact page (or where you are page), but not on more than one. When you have uploaded more photos it will give your site a lot more interest and colour and will look great. On contact page, perhaps disguise your email address, or you may find you are getting lots and lots of spam sent to you. Do feel you need to say where you are, as remember you are now on the internet and everyone worldwide is seeing you, therefore need to say, location, ie suburb/town, plus country.
Hope the above is of some assistance and is what you were after, as site looks really bright and nice to navigate. (Those photos will make a difference).
Good luck with the site - don't forget to let us know your final look!

PS. This is a 'biggy'... I know there is an expense... but this is the first time I have seen the new 'Yola' link at the bottom of the page. it is horrid !!! Especially when the mouse hovers over it and a HUGE grey text pop out comes up. It used to be a little line, but now !!! Do honestly suggest that you change over to Silver!!

Thank you so much! Yes, I want to get some photos but I have to bring a camera and take them! So I will do that as soon as possible (thanks for the reminder) but we don't have karate this week so it will be in at least a couple weeks =( thanks so much!
I know that the map on the HOME page isn't really needed but I don't know what else to put there....?

Yes I wish it was as small as it used to be, it's quite annoying now. My friend made a website with Yola a while ago and it was so much smaller. I thought mine would look like it too, but it's not really something I'm going to change and it's not that big of a deal. I'm not really going to buy anything until if/when I get serious about it. I'm new and I just want a simple site soo maybe later I'll think of it. I might go to Silver in the future but not right now =)

I really like your homepage, and your navigation os clear and to the point, but the text on the homepage is a bit small and hard to read. try Using one like on this getsatisfaction page to make it clearer. Also, on the "Where we are" page, it says "to the rightest". The directions are also kind of obscure. Maybe make two PDF documents. One with just text directions, the other with small images to help people get to the gym, that can be downloaded and printed.

Hey Kokuro,

Well done for choosing to go with Yola.
I would have to disagree with Will, the home page needs work.
I would suggest removing the Google map and replacing it with a image of the people in the class and the Sensei.

Your site will look a whole lot better.

Take care
Werner

Okay, thanks for the advice. I want to get some pictures up but I don't have them yet and we won't have karate for the rest of the week (due to President's week) so there's nothing to take pictures of. I'll update them as soon as possible. Thanks again

If you feel that you need help setting up your website, ask a question, asking for tips and ideas, and I'm sure people will be on hand to help. Your comment, however, is not the way to get help on this forum. People prefer to help people who's questions make sense and use manners, as it makes them fell more welcome. People who are harsh, and aren't polite on this forum tend to get less help, as people feel that their comments, which i know often have a lot of time put into them, will go unappreciated.
As this is a forum, and not a telephone hotline, questions cannot get answered any where near as quickly. This forum makes Yola more efficient, allows community support, and is free for all users.

People will probably answer your question when you post it as a new question, whilst ensuring that it makes sense.

you didn't do anything.
I'm confused, this topic is off topic, and the mood has dipped. That's rubbish.
