Hello Adil

Unfortunately we don't have a member register and login feature yet, but we hope to add it in future. We know that many people would like to have people register for accounts and have logins for their sites. We will need to do quite a bit of development to make this possible, so please be patient while we work on this.

You can password protect particular pages on your site, more information on this link.

This might not be quite what you had in mind, but you might want to try using Google Friend Connect. You can find information on how to add it to your site with this tutorial: Adding Google Friend Connect.

Please let us know if this service meets your needs or if you have additional requirements as this will help inform our planning.

Hi, you can use Authpro if you want. I have that set up on my website. That is a good membership thing where you can put some html codes on your Yola website and stuff and then have a members area with Welcome codes, and stuff. Check it out on my site, if you go to my site, and sign in with:

Login: Test

Username: Test

Just go to http://www.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc and click on "Sign in" on the blue tab at the top of the page.

If you do sign up for Authpro, that blue tab on my homepage, that says "Sign in or Create an account", wont be provided by authpro. I created all those codes with JavaScript and css and they aren't provided by authpro, I create them my self. They give you basic codes and you have to make it better. But, anyways, I hope you can get into my website and see how it looks!

Maybe someday Yola will partner with Authpro and have the Authpro widget or something on the sidebar. That would be neat!

(To Yola employees: The email to reach authpro is: support@authpro.com)

Hi, I have set up authpro on my site. I have it set up and very customized. I created a whole other Yola website for the members area and I linked my website and you can take a look if you want to sign up here and login after you signed up: http://my.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc Just click the "Don't have an account? You can created one here" link on that page. When you sign up, make sure you enter your actual email address so you can verify your account. You can ask me anything you want about authpro! I am very happy to help anyone!

Sincerely,
Nathan

Hi Moeen, I am sorry for the delayed reply. I am on the free plan too! So you can do exactly what I have if you want, but it will be hard. I used CSS, HTML & JavaScript to make it possible. I will give you any code you need.

Okay, first, once you signed up with Authpro, you'll want to go to the design page and set up the messages that display. Once you set all of that up and got all of the colors and forms set up, it is now time for the settings! Go to Settings and type in the url of your members area. You are going to want to create a website just for the members area first. Just call it "Members Area" and as a blank site. And for the url, just do like moeens-membersarea.yolasite.com or whatever you want. You'll be able to set it up better later. Now, in Settings in Authpro, type in the url of your members area. And you are going to want to type in on the Common Settings what you want the sender's name to be from. And type in a email address (it doesn't have to exist, it can be "info@moeen-membersarea.com" if you want. It doesn't have to be valid. It can be, but it doesn't have to. Now, do all of the other settings and set up the email templates and the redirect pages urls and stuff. After you do that, then you are going to want to go to Yola and put in this code with an HTML widget:

<style type="text/css">
.authpro_container {
display:none;
visibility:hidden;
}
</style>

<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1">
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta name="robots" content="noarchive">
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">
<div class="authpro_container">
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.authpro.com/auth/YOURLOGIN..." >
</script>
</div>

Remember to replace YOURLOGIN qith your username on authpro. Then, it wil protect your page! But, you need to go into settings in authpro and on the "Logout URL, put the url of where you want the user to go when they log out. Then in "New Members defaults" put in for the passed url the members area that you are creating. Then for "Verified members defaults" put the same thing. But make sure that for new members defaults is kept as "Suspended" so they have to verify their email first.

I will keep giving you more information as you need it!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please don't hesitate to post them here!

P.S Did you sign up on my site? If you did, thanks! If you didn't you can if you want! Just go to the login page and click "Don't have an account? Click here"

Sincerely,
Nathan

Hi, I looked and tried over and over again but it's not working.
I did all the steps as you nicely provided but it just doesn't work.
There is no log in box (don't exactly know what is called) that contains urser-name and password. I copied the above coding with my 'authpro.com' user ID instead of YOURLOGIN... code and pasted into the HTML.
I clicked the log in button that I created in my site where the URL is linked from 'Authpro.com' after I saved&published my site but the page is just blank....

I have know idia how to create or modify code so... I need your help =)
I will wait for your fast reply with a time watch!
Thanks.

I am not familiar with authpro but I'm hoping our champ will be able to assist you with this. If you could provide your site URL, then Nathan or someone else will be able to take a look at what has been done and why it may not be working. Thanks for your patience!

Hi, yes. In the code, in the page protection one, are you putting in this url:

http://www.authpro.com/auth/ujnique/?action=pp

The url that you posted is just for the login page but above is the url that goes in the "src" part of the script tags.

Hi Moeen! You can get all of the codes I have (like the "welcome, username" code and stuff) by going to your authpro account home. Then on the links, click the last blue one, it says "Member's page protection code, logout, other features" Click it and it gives you all of the codes. Now, if you want to get that little bar at the top that says "Logged in as YOURNAME" then add in this code:

<!--

<div>
<div style="position: absolute; top: 1%; right: 27%">

<div style="float:right;"><font size="2"; face="Arial"><a href="http://www.YOURHOMEPAGE.yolasite.com"...>   |   <a href="http://YOURBLOG'S-URL">Blog&lt;/a>   |   </font><font color="black"; size="2"; face="Arial"; align="left">Logged in as
</font><font color="black"; size="2"; face="Arial"; align="left" ><a href="account.php"><b><script language="JavaScript">document.write(login)</script></b></a>   |   <a id="logout-link" href="logout/" onclick="location.href='http://www.authpro.com/auth/YOUR-USER...; return false;">Sign out</a></font></div>
<br><hr width="400px"; size="2"; align="right" />

</div>
</div>

-->

Make sure not to copy <!-- or --> Just the code in between them

Also, replace "YOUR-USERNAME-WITH-AUTHPRO" with your username.

You HAVE to add this code after the page protection code I gave you above.

Now, for the Edit Profile page!

In the site builder, create a page called "profile" Make sure NONE of these pages are in the menu of your site. Also, make sure that for the style of your site, you have "CleanSlate" And, for the layout of the site, make sure you have "2-Column Right"

Now, let's add some content to the page.

Add the Logged in as code that I gave you above to it. Make sure you have the Page Protection code I gave you a couple posts ago all the way at the VERY TOP of the page.

Once you added those 2 codes, lets ad the edit profile forms!

First, you need to go to Authpro and in the "Registration form" replace the code right now with this:

<!--

<style type="text/css">

#agree_statement {
width:40%;
background-color:#ccc;
color:black;
font-face:arial;
display:none;
}

input.style_box {
width: 200px;
height: 30px;
background-color: #EBEBEB;
color:black;
border:1px solid black;
border-radius: 5px;
font-size: 20px;
font-face: arial;
align: right;

}

input.style_box:hover, input.style_box:focus {
width: 200px;
height: 30px;
background-color: #EBEBEB;
color:black;
border:1px solid black;
border-radius: 5px;
font-size: 20px;
font-face: arial;
align: right;
outline:0px;
box-shadow:0px 0px 7px black;/*#2D9DE3; CSS3 shadow: 7px blurred shadow all around form*/
-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 7px black;/*#2D9DE3; Safari shadow version*/
-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 7px black;/*#2D9DE3; Mozilla shadow version*/
}

input.submit_button {
background-color: #EDEDED;
color: black;
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 15px;
font-face: arial;
border:0px solid black;
height: 26px;
width:154px;
border-radius: 5px;
border: 1px solid black;
}
input.submit_button:hover {
background-color:#94FF4D;
color:black;
border:0;
border-radius: 5px;

box-shadow:0px 0px 10px black;/*CSS3 shadow: 30px blurred shadow all around form*/
-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 10px black;/*Safari shadow version*/
-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 10px black;/* Mozilla shadow version*/
}

}

</style>

</td></tr>
</table></center>
<font size="2"; color="red">* Required Field</font><br><br>
<br>
</td></tr></table></td></tr></table>
<strong><b>

-->

This is so the Edit Profile page will work properly.

Now, go into Yola. On profile page, drag over a text widget and put in "Edit your information" and set the text size to Large and the color to whatever you want. Now, under that, drag another text widget over and put in " Here you can keep your account up to date, change your password, or delete your account" Push enter about 3 times on that same text widget.

We will continue once you have this stuff done...

Hi Jz,

You could add AuthPro to your site if you wanted to. AuthPro allows you to have user registration, login, pick which pages you want protected, and even display a welcome message like "Hello, {user}" (where {user} is the actual user's name)

This can be implemented right with Yola with a few lines of custom HTML code. (provided by AuthPro, so all you have to do is copy and paste)

I just wish that yola would release a system where you can create a whole user interface like there own pages which you can update... Like i own a business www.kimskins.com where i have alot of wholesale clients which i would love if they had there own wee page where they can see the status of their order or download there invoices stuff like that but i want them to also have there own log in which they choose not the current password protect thing which is only good if you have a private site or something otherwise its useless really!!

SO YOLA PLEAAASEEE!!!

You're just getting to this after 2 years? You are definitely not going to have the features I need in this lifetime...

Wow, thank Laura for chasing this down and at least working to figure out what people need. And good job for asking what we need before building something that isn't quite right... However, you're survey is broken, and would not accept my free form text.

Hello Jay

Thank you for your feedback on our plans to introduce this feature. I'm sorry that the survey wasn't working for you. However, it is working on our end, and a number of people have been participating. It may have been a temporary glitch on your or the provider's side. You'd be more than welcome to clear your cache and cookies, and retry if you want.

Hi.. firstly I love YOLA !!, but why oh why isn't this feature available yet. Having a singular logon / password protection feature is helpful, but most sites these days require some type of registration / logon feature. As a silver member, I really didnt expect to have to look around for 3rd party elements to add to my site.

Please can we have this feature asap!!

Hi Janette,

It's for the reasons you stated above that we are gathering feedback on exactly how you would use membership services in this survey so we can better plan for the implementation of this feature.
