Hi,

I'd like to add "buy now" or "pay now" buttons using HTML. I don't want to go through Online Store. Is this possible? Thank you!

Hello John,

This is possible with PayPal Buy Now buttons. They are available as widgets in the sitebuilder. To find them:

widgets > e-commerce > PayPal Catalogue

if you only have one or two then you can use the PP Product facility

You can also get the HTML from the PayPal website. There are enhanced versions which have additional functionality there.

Thanks Gop.

I'm in South Africa and most people here don't use Paypal because they still don't accept Rands (ZAR).

I'd like to have credit card facilities on my site. I found a gateway that is reasonably priced and it's possible to copy their HTML code to apply.

Would that work using the HTML widget?

Thank you

You are welcome John.

Placing third party code into an HTML widget should work. I would encourage you to try it out on a test site first if possible. There are occasions where such code has caused problems, generally from amateur creators, but always a sensible strategy of testing before eating :)

Or perhaps I can use the Paypal (Buy Now) buttons and my clients can use credit cards without having or signing up to a Paypal account?

PayPal generally state that users don't need a PP account to use the facility for purchases. I think you as the vendor though would need an account because generally the transaction monies go through the vendors account and are deposited there in the interim.

You would be best to communicate with PP on this issue and I know that they will respond very quickly and give you their best information and options if available. To contact them just click the "contact us" link at the bottom of any page of their site: http://paypal.com

I am not pushing the Online Store but simply advising that you re-consider this if possible. The payment gateways offered are very broad and overcome these issues. If you only have 10 products then you can sign up with ecwid.com and use the service for free. More than 10 you pay and it's cheaper then to sign up for the Yola branded Ecwid store.

Thanks again Gop,

Because I'm an American living in South Africa, I do have a Paypal account, however I believe that most South Africans (who would be the people I'd sell to) don't have PP accounts.

I would have more than 10 products eventually.

Thanks for your help. I think I'm going to try the HTML way.
