Can I add something that will create a "sold" sign (paypal) when my one of a kind item sells?

Hi. Here I am with another question! I sell jewelry on my site (http://www.singingheart.yolasite.com) and each piece is one of a kind. I'm set up with Paypal. My question is - is there a way to have "SOLD" show up after the one item is sold? I know I can do this myself after the item is sold, but what if someone tries to buy before I can get to it? I saw something in Paypal that allows you to track your items, and I tried to add the HTML widget and code, but I don't think it was right.

You people are great and have helped me so much. I appreciate it.

Thanks ahead of time!

Hello Deborah,

That is great that you are finding the Get Satisfaction community helpful, we love to hear that!

If you are looking for inventory tracking, unfortunately the Yola Online Store widgets don't yet offer this feature. However, you can add to your site by visiting PayPal and following these steps:

1) Sign into your PayPal account.
2) Click the "Merchant services" tab in the horizontal menu.
3) Click the "Buy Now Button" or the "Add to Cart Button".
4) Choose button type and enter name and payment details.
5) Click the "Track inventory" tab.
6) Check the "Track inventory" box.
7) Enter the "Item ID" and input your quantity and alert quantity.
8) When done editing click "Create Button".
9) In the next window and in the (Website) code box click the "Select Code".
10) Right click on the highlighted text and click "Copy".
11) Open your site editor and drag an HTML widget where you need it.
12) In the HTML widget paste the code.
13) Then Update your site.

This will ensure that your product is never oversold, as well as give you an email letting you know when your stock gets low.

For detailed information on using PayPal, please view PayPal's Website Payments Standard Integration Guide PDF (5.8mb PDF).

I hope this helps!

Hi Emmy,

Thanks so much for the help. What do I use as my item ID (that paypal will recognize?) The name of the item?

Thanks again. You guys (and girls) are great and helpful.

The item ID or name is anything that you wish it to be. Paypal only asks for one so that YOU can easily recognize what it is that has been sold and you need to ship. A alpha numerical ID should work great.

.I have posted at length the answer to your other question here. Sadly you cannot have a sold image automatically added to your page> I am sorry that is not yet possible. Maybe an email to the Paypal team would spark their interest in that idea. I think it's a great one
