Can I create a drop menu on my page? I want visitors to be able to roll their mouse over a menu title and see options on the menu with links to different webpages.

Hi Ryansarcade
Unfortunately we don't have this feature at the moment. It would be useful to be able to create a drop down menu so hopefully this is something we can work on for the future.
Thanks for the question!

Monique

As the answer is 3 months old, i just wanted to know if there is any progress about this feature.
if not dropdown boxes, is there any other way i can create sub menus?
actually i m trying to build up a site which deals which Beauty queries n fixes, so i have deal lot of things from types of skin (dry/oily/ bla blah blah) n then other conditions of skin, hair, nails, clothes, fashion..
so it would be easier for me if you can suggest me something as a substitute for drop down boxes(in case drop down boxes/sub menus are still unavailable).

Hi Monica
We don't have drop down menus yet.
We do have a tutorial that makes an alternate suggestion on how to handle subpages: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/c...
Please take a look at this and let me know if you think it will work for you.
I can also send you some instructions on how to create a drop down list on your page using HTML, but this can be quite tricky - so let me know what you would prefer.
Best wishes

Hi Monica
Here is a link to an article that gives you the code: http://www.hypergurl.com/dropmenu.html
In SynthaSite:
1) drag and drop the HTML widget onto your page
2) delete the default text in the HTML editor dialog box
3) paste the code and edit is as the article explains.
Hint: The easiest way would be to create all the pages you want to link to your from your drop down menu and then publish your site. Then you can easily get the URL's you need to add to the code by copying and pasting the page URL's from your browser window.
This is quite tricky, but I wish you luck if you are up for the challenge! Let me know how it goes!

I dont know how tricky its going to be when i would actually do it, but it looks like i will manage it.
As i will build the pages first, i think i will use it after 2-3 days, will sure post a reply whether it worked or not.
Thanks alot for helping me out

I'm sorry you didn't like the results Monica. Unfortunately this is the best solution we can offer until we create our own drop-down menu widget.
I will be sure to mention your request to our developers as feedback from our community of users does help us with our planning.

Hi Monica
I know you would really like this, and so would a lot of other people. Let me explain what we are working on right now.
One of our major priorities is to improve the way our styles work. We want more and better styles with more customization options. This includes the ability to change the background image, edit the header text, edit the footer, populate different regions on your page etc. Included in this project will be the ability to create drop down menus. So it is not simply a matter of taking our existing styles and adding a drop down menu option. Drop down menus are being considered as part of a much bigger project. This means that it will take a little longer but we believe that the end result will be much more satisfying.
Thank you for making your voice hear on this point. User requests assist us in setting our priorities and we will certainly make sure we get to this request when the time is right in our development process.
Best wishes

Hi ethan. Thanks for the link. I haven't tried this particular one. I can tell you that you can add Javascript with SynthaSite by pasting the script into the HTML widget. However, I can't tell you which scripts are safe to use and which ones would cause problems on your page. If you want to use Javascript my suggestion would be to create a new test site first and try it out, before using the script on your real website. Here is a link to another site that generates drop down menus for you. (This is one I have tested) http://www.htmlbasix.com/. Click on the "choose a generator" menu and you should find a drop down menu option.

Hi. Yes there is a way! Kinda similar to ethan's idea. You can generate a JavaScript code using this FREE simple template (note: before you use the template you must have your webpages done b/c the template asks for your pages' url) http://www.hscripts.com/tools/drop-do... 1.Copy your code. 2. In synthasite editor "hide" all of your pages 3. Insert HTML widget and paste the code

That will depend on how your menu is set up, but in theory, yes, it should be easy to add on from your current menu. Also, we can't really discuss the feature much until it's ready to be released, but when it is we will go over the functionality and how it works in more detail.

Hello Cesare
Yola doesn't offer drop down menus yet, but you can check out our code site to find out if there is some code you would like to add to your Yola website to have drop down menus: http://yolacodes.yolasite.com/sjdm.php

No drop down menus yet? I thought you were working on this 4 years ago?
I just upgraded to silver to be able to create useful sub menus. Quite disappointing if this is still not available...

Hi aaronQ,
We implemented submenus as a Yola Silver feature. As Stefan indicates above, traditional drop down menus can be implemented but will require HTML code.

Hi Rafal,
So if your site was things-to-sell.com and the page that you are wanting to include in a specific menu link is items, then the menu link would be:
http://mysite.com/page
is the configuration name of a page link within a site.
