Can I edit text with Transmit, rather than editing and redownloading the whole website again?

Alrighty. So I'm working on a website here... Normally I'll be able to edit my webpages from my FTP uploader, Transmit. I don't know a lot of code, so i use things like this, or Weebly to make my page. With Weebly I can edit my text from my FTP uploader, but I can't figure out to do it with the page I made here. How can I do that without coming to the website, editing the text, downloading the whole site again and uploading it to my server? I just want to be able to edit text quickly and easily from Transmit. help! thanks

Hi Ozma,

The best and safest way to do this is the long way, i.e. editing the site in the SynthaSite editor, downloading it and then re-uploading it. The difference between the Weebly and SynthaSite site downloads is that Weebly gives the site in HTML and SynthaSite provides a set of PHP files so they will look quite different.

The content is in there if you know where to look and if you definitely would like to go that route then have a look in the site structure that gets downloaded as follows: -> Site Name folder -> definitions -> page name (e.g. index) folder ->

That PHP file will contain the content for that page and technically I don't think there's anything that will stop you from making changes to the raw PHP file, as long as it's nothing major like adding a new widget or anything like that but I'm sure that minor changes to the text etc. should work fine.

Thanks Wayne :-)

Ozma, your other alternative is to host your site for free on SynthaSite where you can update your site at the click of a button, see this post for more info:

Thanks! that's good to know. i like that option to host your site here, for free (although I'll probably just stick with my host for now).
