Hi Ben,

I don't think that it's possible to do this. The old system doesn't allow you to create a file of existing products which is needed for the uploading to the new system. It would be a great enhancement however.

One approach to effect this would be to create a spreadsheet with your headings
eg: Name, Description, Price, Weight, Image URL (Image URL can be copied by left click and Copy image URL) , etc. It does help if you are comfortable and have some experience with Excel or similar.

Copy and paste each field of your current catalogue ie shopping cart and paste that into the created spreadsheet.

Save the sheet as a "comma delimited CSV file" (an option in excel and Open Office).

Then move over to your ecwid store: go down the page to Add/Edit products.

Select the option to import products.

On the right hand side of the dialogue that shows up you now need to map your CSV file to the order shown in Import Columns. (You can move the titles in that list by dragging them up or down.) This is the hardest part of the process so take your time and if it fails in importing then don't worry just try another configuration.

When you have mapped the fields then you go over to the left hand side and Browse for your CSV file. When that's done make sure that there is a check mark for Skip First line

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on Import button and it will upload your file.

It is important for the price column to be formatted as either currency or number in your CSV file as any other format probably won't work. ( I tend to use the number format rather than currency as there are less issues with it)

If you need to repeat the import then it's important to check Delete all products/categories before import otherwise you will add the new contents to your previous.

Hi Ben,

I just wanted to confirm that the information Gop has provided is accurate. If you are currently using the PayPal widget for your shopping cart, they do not support .csv files so you will be unable to import them. Please let us know if you have any other set up questions and we'll be happy to help!
