On my site I have a black background and I wonder how I can increase it to fit more stuff in it? (see the link overlapping it here: http://www.michellesfoodandhealthsite...)

and on here: http://www.michellesfoodandhealthsite... (on the sitee you can see what I mean below the 'recent post things' and do you know why those lines are so long (going to the left)?

Also is it possible to add a widget like this? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/w...

Thanks,

Michelle.

Hi Mishmo,

Unfortunately it is not possible to increase the size of the body region of your template.

The reason for the styles having this region is to to prevent people with smaller screens from having to scroll horizontally to see your page. This is something most people find very annoying, so we have tried to use styles that will look good on everyone's computer as much as possible.

I would suggest taking a look at our Style Guide and selecting a style with a wider region: Style Guide - http://www.yola.com/yola-style-guide

Hi Mishmo,

I don't see the black background or overlapping when I visit your site - did you change your style? If not, could you post a screenshot of what you see or let us know what browser you're using (I'm using Firefox 3.5).

Here's a screenshot of what I see with regard to your second point:

Would you mind pointing out the problem - if you're using another browser, perhaps it's worse in that one?

That particular plugin won't work because it's specific to Wordpress. If you find one that is applicable to blogs generally, we could try and see whether it would work with Yola.

I'm using Internet Explorer- maybe thats why?

Do you know if I changed the style of my site, would that change the content?

Thanks,

Michelle.

Hi Michelle,

I think content in the left column is pushing content in the right column to the right.

Can you try something? You'll see in the site builder that the widget above "Recent Posts" is in a two-column widget but "Recent Posts" is not. Can you drag it into the left side of two-column widget above and see whether that makes a difference?
