Can I make a copy of my website or overwrite it with a new version?

I am writing because I am updating my website, which was already built on Yola. Here is the problem: Since I am changing all of its style and layout, it might take me a while to get everything ready. As I do that, I would like to be able to keep my "older version" and go on updating it, until the new one is ready. So, if I simply change the style in the website I am using right now, it will overwrite everything I had, and I will no longer be able to update it until all changes are ready; on the other hand, if I start a new one to replace it, I need to start from scratch - which means uploading everything again, re-writing scripts that I had already written, and having to copy and format again every single text I have already published.

With that, I ask: isn't there a function such as "Save as", that I can use, so I can make the changes I wish without affecting the site that is in use, and than - only when it is all ready -, I can replace the older by the newer version?

Thank you for your attention!

Hello Barbara,

The easiest way to do this is to make your changes as you go but don't re-publish. That will keep your original site live and allow you to progressively make changes to your new version.
