Hi!
Is there any way to make a photo album? I read the tutorials but I don't want a slide show. I want a photo album. I think that's what's called when you can see all the pictures at once.

Hi there,

It sounds like you want a photo gallery, but if you didn't care for the options in our Photo Gallery Tutorials, such as Flickr or SmugMug, you might prefer JAlbum.

Here are the steps to add JAlbum to your site.

1. You will need to create an account with JAlbum. It's free!
2. Once you've confirmed your sign-up, click on "Create new album".
3. Upload your Photos.
4. Click on "Info" to give your photos some descriptions.
5. To select the kind of album you want, select "Design".
6. Under your "Settings" tab, select the options you want available.
7. Once you're done creating your site, then click on the "Save and exit" button on the right.
8. You should now see a "Congrats! Here's your JAlbum". On that dialog box, copy the link URL.
9. In your Sitebuilder, drag over an HTML Widget and place the following code:
*You may need to fiddle with the width and height of your iframe to accommodate your album.
10. Save and update your site.

You should see your slick-looking album working on your site!

Thanks Sanja! Looking forward to hearing back from you and what you come up with. I would really like to try JAlbum without the 30 day trial.

Hi Randy,

I have now got my final answer :) They have indeed changed their stipulation. You must upgrade to their paid version if you wish to keep the album online after 30 days. I wish I had better news for you.

Yes, I was tallking about a photo gallery, just got the name wrong. I'm glad you knew what I meant. I tried flickr and JAlbum and both work fine. What I'm wanting to do is be able to have writing either on top or bottom of each photo. I guess it may be called a caption, I'm not sure. Well anyway Flickr and JAlbum put the pictures on yola but if the writing is there I don't see it. Then I thought maybe it's not supposed to bring over the writing, just the picture. If so, is there any way to write under or above each photo after it's on yola?

Well anyway, thank you for the help you've already given me.

It's not possible to get this into the photo gallery from inside the Sitebuilder, but you can add a description of your photos in Flickr that will then come up in the gallery, here's a screen shot of where you can add this from inside your Flickr account.

I hope that helps!

Thank you Emmy. Your screenshot is exactly what I want to do. I guess it's not called a caption, it's called a despription. I may not know know the right words for stuff but I know what I'm talking about...lol.

Can you tell me exactly how you add a description in flickr because I tried more than once. The description showed in flickr but not in yola gallery. I'm using firefox and I tried Internet Explorer too and same thing. It's so easy to get pictures in the gallery so I must be doing something wrong.

Sorry to bother you guys again but this is driving me crazy. You two have been extremely helpful already. Thank you.

Hi tagwarmistress

Emmy is currently offline. I hope I am able to help you with your question.
The steps for adding tags to your Flickr gallery is in our tutorial: Flickr Galleries. Having said that, we have been receiving reports that the Flickr Galleries are problematic and are not displaying correctly. Sometimes the pictures or tags do not show up. You can read more about it on the Flickr Help Forum.

If you need more help with adding pictures to your site, please let us know. We are here to help.

Thank you

When I go to access your link for the guide, all I get is a blank screen. I tried Firefox and Safari with the same results.

It's just popped up for me with Chrome. Try right clicking and pressing Save File As. Then open it.

Hope this works

Hi robbi10k,
Can you tell us more about the Google ads? For example, are they image files or are they clickable?

Hi Justine, Thanks! for the reply. They are clickable links/images.
For example, I have google html code for the clickable links/images and I need to copy this code on every page of the photos. So that if i have 5 photoes in the album/gallery, if an user want to view 5 photoes, after every photo the next photo should be opened in the next page. I don't want all the photoes to be opened on the same page by just clicking the next.

Hi robbi10K,

You should be able to tweak your HTML code to have your pictures open up on a new page. Please check out our general tutorial on how to do this: Links that open in new tabs or window. If you are not able to figure out how to apply those instructions to your Google HTML code, please do let us know and we can further assist.

Hi robbi10K,

Based on your description it sounds like the only way to achieve what you want is to have your pictures open in a new tab per the link Sanja provided above. That being said, I'm not sure I am fully understanding your request. Do you have an example of a website that functions in the way you are describing that we could take a look at? That should help us to determine if it's functionality we can assist you with.

Hi, I am able to create an album in my yola website, but to view the pics, I don't have "next" to go to next photo. To view the next pic first I need to go back to the gallery and then click on the next photo. This is very uncomfortable to the user.

I would like to have the photo gallery like below website:
http://idlebrain.com/movie/photogalle...
there are three options: 'Back to Gallery' , 'Next Image' and 'Last Image'.

so that When I click next image next image should appear in different page but in same tab. Could you pls help me on this?

Hello Robbi10k,

This would be very simple to accomplish. All you would need to do is create three text links. This could be done in the text editor with it aligned centrally and the text widget being placed at the top and bottom of every image.

The links would be either to the next or previous page or to the gallery. This may be time consuming but this is the easiest way for you to achieve this.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andi, Thanks! for the info. I could successfully add the links what I wish to.
I have 2 more questions:
1. For example I have 5 pages already created for my website and can I add the password protection for already created web page? or vice-versa like how to remove the password protection for an existing protected page?
2.Is there any possibility to not to display(How to hide) the existing navigation page to the external world, but that page still need to be present in my yola database for further changes.

Hello robbi10k,

I hope to be of help to you!

You sure can add or remove the password protection feature to your site. Here's more information about how to do this: Editing or removing the page Password Protection.

If you wish to hide a certain page from your navigation, you can do this by following these steps:

1. Click on "Page" > "Page Manager" in the main menu.
2. The Page Manager will open and you will see the list of your pages.
3. To remove pages from your navigation, you need to click on the green check for the page that you would like to remove. This check is located next to the green "indent" arrow to the right of each page name (if you mouse over it, you will see the words "Click here to hide this in your menu").
4. Click on the green check, so it becomes a red "x". This removes it from your navigation.
5. Click "OK" and save your changes.
6. Don't forget to click on the "Publish to the web" button to update your website.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
