How can I make a page or picture, like a coloring sheet, in a printer friendly format? I want to make downloadable or printer friendly coloring sheets as well as a picture "of the month" that won't include all the other stuff on my web page. Is there a way to do that? Thanks so much!!

Hi AnnT

My best suggestion is that you create your coloring sheets in the desktop software of your choice. You could then save them as PDF files and upload them by:
1) Dragging and dropping a File widget onto your page
2) Browsing your desktop and uploading the file
3) When you click "ok" a download link to your file will automatically be created
To test that the links is working, save and preview your page.

Your visitors would then be able to download and print the page.

Let me know if this alternative is acceptable to you.

Monique,

Thanks for your answer! I think I am still missing something. I did the widget thing with a pdf file and the preview page looks great. How will people know they can download it, or more specifically, how do they?? Is there a widget for the print or save icons and how would they work?

PS I love the new format and improvements!!!!

Hi AnnT,

Great to know that you're enjoying the new version of SynthSite!

It's probably best to add a text widget so that people can read that there's a pdf available for download. You can add a two-column layout, then add text to the one site and your file widget to the other - that keeps it quite neat.

You can also change the name of the file as it's displayed on the page.

I tried to look for a widget that might work but didn't pick anything up, but will keep it in mind and come back to you if I find anything!

Regards,
Marije
