my site is here: http://michellesfoodandhealthsite.yol...

Okay so I have a few questions:
-on my 'healthy recipes and food' page: how do I make the 'search posts search box' actually search my blog post?

-on my front page how do I made rollover picture links?
-how do i change the colour of the heading of my blog posts from white to green?
-how do i add a feedburner to my site? and how do i promote it on my site?
-how do i add the disqus html so it ends up below my blogs?
-is there a way to add a thing that adds related post links to the bottom of each blog?
-how do I fix the heading of my website so it displays the whole 'michelles health and food site' and not cut off the 'food site' bit?
-Can anyone give me their opinion/criticisms of my site?

I think they're all my qs. (sorry for the long list!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Michelle.

Hi Michelle.

I'll try to address each question:

1. Search post - I'm not how that works. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer that one.

2. Heading color - you cannot change the heading colors. Sorry.

3. Feedburner - you need to first sign up with Feedburner and then type in your rss feed. Now.. I don't think you can actually embed the feedburner onto your site. I may be wrong on that. I think what you have to do is add an RSS button or link to your feedburner site. I'll have to look into this more.

4. Disqus - you add the disqus HTML through your blog manager. Click on "settings" and you'll see a box for your Disqus HTML. Please note that you can only see this comment box when you click on the blog post title.

5. Related post links - I think you may have to add these manually.

6. Website heading - the template only allows certain amount of text for the heading. You'll have to get creative and shorten your title somehow. The other option is selecting a wider template which would give you more room. I also suggest finding ways of shortening your menu link titles. They take up too much room and is causing your menu line to break. For example, instead of Healthy recipes and food, you could just shorten to Healthy recipes or healthy recipes & food.

7. Rollover links - I suggest using the HTML basix generator to create this. http://www.htmlbasix.com/mouseoverima...

I hope that helps a bit. Please let us know if you need further clarification.

Hi Michelle

What I did with my blog is to add a text box to the top explaining to people what to do if they should want to leave comments. Have a look if you want to see how I've done it: http://littleus.yolasite.com/our-journal

As for the button code, you can add your HTML inside an HTML widget box. That should hopefully work!

i would lose the 'sitemap' page - at least out of the main menu and for sure shorten the page heading. Has to be 1 line.

On your home page - i would add more reciepe links and give the images a bit of spacing. Also the 2 adverts on the right side of the page could use a bit of space between them.

I remember when you just started this site - its come along way - well done.

The font is currently set by the style. We are working on a feature that will allow you to edit some aspects of the header font, such as color and size.

To analyze the traffic on the RSS Feed of your blog, you can use the services of Feedburner: http://www.feedburner.com/ It allows you to gather data on how many subscribers you have and where they're coming from.

These are the steps:

1. Go to http://www.feedburner.com and register.
2. Enter your current RSS feed (you can get it by right-clicking on the RSS feed link on your website and then clicking on "copy").
3. Edit the name (if you like) and click on "Next".
4. Copy the URL provided on the next page, it would look something like: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/yola/tmin.
5. Back on your blog, replace your current RSS feed link with the one provided by Feedburner. You can do this by using the text widget and the link editor in the text toolbar to create an image or a text link - whichever you prefer.
6. Update (republish) your site.

To check your stats, you'll need to login to Feedburner. If you need more help understanding how it works, they have a great support page available on: http://www.google.com/support/feedburner.

I suggest adding a message to your blog page such as "Click on the post to leave a comment" so that your visitors know where to go to comment. (I also hope we will have a better, fully integrated comment system in future.)

Your site looks fabulous! I am sorry you are running into some issues with the style. If you are interested in considering a different style, we might be able to offer more suggestions. Failing that, you would wait for some of the features we are developing.

If we haven't covered any of your questions, please let us know.

Hi Michelle,

Currently there really isn't a backup facility for your site. It's something in the pipeworks but not yet available.

You can download your site as a zipped file which allows you to publish yourself or somewhere else. This doesn't allow you to easily re-upload back to Yola., it isn't intended for this purpose. The process of publishing in another place is highly technical and currentlyhas some bugs.

Yola has guaranteed, as much as they can, that your site is secure on their servers. They have their own internal backup process and strategies.

Hello Michelle, Your recipes look yummy! My site suggestion is to work on the text spacing. Sentences jump to the next line right in the middle, sometimes skipping lines, too. This makes reading the text a bit difficult. Love your color scheme! Best wishes,
Sister
