Can I publish my site even though it still needs tweaking and just put a "Still under Construction" on the homepage?

Yes you can do that.....Until you take steps to get your site indexed and promote it, it is doubtful anyone would find it.

Hello Kerri-Ann,

You can put on a "Still under Construction" sign if you wish but we do advise against this as your site is always "under construction". This is a very outdated practice. Please see this useful article on the topic: Why your Website Should Always Be Under Construction.

If you have pages that you aren't ready to put live yet, simply move them out of your menu and then put them back in when you are ready. These are the steps to moving your page in and out of your navigation:

1. Click on the "Edit Navigation" button on the top toolbar.
2. A dialog box will open and you will see the list of your pages in the left-hand pane under "Pages in the Navigation".
3. Drag and drop your page that is still in development "Pages out the Navigation".
4. Repeat the above steps and drag the completed page "Pages in the Navigation" then republish your site when you are ready for the page to go live. If you still decide that you wish to use an "under construction" notice on your site, here is a site with a large selection that you can download: Under Construction Icons and Signs.

To use one of these images:
1. Right click on the image you want.
2. Select: "save image as"
3. In Yola, upload the image you just saved to your File Manager and add it with either the Text or the Picture widget. See: Adding Pictures for further instructions if needed.

I hope that information is helpful.

Hi there,

I suggest taking a look at this tutorial as a way to add a comment box to your site.

I hope that helps!

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the previously broken link. Take a look at this article for some excellent points about why a website should always be under construction: http://websitesinnh.com/blog_files/Yo....
