once you choose your actual you must keep it as far as i know. If i wrong i would really like to know. But i am aware that you can change the names of your links and website pages..

Hi Adrian

You can certainly do this! . You won't have to redo a thing!

Click on the drop down arrow next to the "Update My Site" button. Then click on "publishing settings." You will see an option to "manage your domains." Click on this.

Since you are using a SynthaSite subdomain, simply type your new domain in the first box and click "save." Your site will then be published to your new domain.

Let me know if you have any difficulty with this.

Wow, I looked before I asked the question and did not see this. - Thanks.
Next question, and I hope I ask this correctly?

Do I have a unique IP address for my old site, and will I get a new IP for the new site? Ok let me ask it a different way: Would my site retain It's existing rank with google or does it start from fresh. In other words, do I have to resubmit my site to Google even though my content remains the same.
Hope I'm explaining correctly?

Hi Adrian - sorry, things got hectic and I forgot to come back and answer this. Your IP address will stay the same if you change your domain name. I think all you have to edit your details and submit your new domain name to Google. You shouldn't have to do anything else.
