As the title says really - in the analytics of my site, the page "/" is accessed initially by my site visitors. So can I call it /home.php somehow? It's called /index.php at the mo and I'd like to change that really. Any ideas?

The site is funky-photos.co.uk

Hi Lazyeye,

Unfortunately this is not possible. In order for a browser to access your site you need a page with the file name "index". The index page is the first page your visitors will land on as it is the default home page.

Hi, but you know what is odd? There is this one website that uses home.html instead of index.html I totally understand about index.html but I don't see how they made it home.html and it was their homepage whenever you went to the page. Here is the website: http://markcarouthers.com And, when I try to go to index, it says 404 not found. I don't know how they get /home instead of /index. It's odd!

Nathan, what makes you think the site you mentioned is a Yola site? I don't think it is.

I would like to know how to have my blog show the name I want in Google Reader and Bloglines and not "index". Any suggestions?
