Can no longer upload pictures

Only from today I find I cannot load pictures. After I select them it says 'Optimizing Images' in red and the white box where the pic should be says "Image Loading" This continues until I have to leave the page. It happens with all the pics I have, yet yesterday it was fine.

Just before this happened I read your thread about not copying directly from one website or from a MS Word doc to your Yola site so I followed your insructions to strip any bad coding from the one page, then pasted the correct one back in again.

I deleted this one page and started again, but still the same problem. I use Firefox 3.5 and I have cleared my cache and cookies and clicked on "everything' as was suggested in one of your threads, but nothing seems to help.
Any suggestions, please?

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your post.

We recently released a feature that would automatically optimize images added using the Picture Widget.

We have had intermittent reports from users who say that the site builder hangs while "Optimizing Image" (You will see this message in red with the spinning wheel in the top right corner of your site builder)

We are investigating the cause and hope to have a solution soon. In the meantime users report that when they refresh the page or navigate away and try again the problem corrects itself.

As a work around you could try adding the image using the text widget instead:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. Click "insert picture" on the text editing toolbar (the icon that looks like a green tree in a picture frame, roughly in the middle of the toolbar).
3. The File Manager will open up and allow you to browse for and select an image, as described above.
4. Using the text widget allows you to insert a number of pictures in the same text box. You can add as many pictures in a row as your chosen style will support. Separate each picture by one or two spaces for the best results.

If this solution does not work for you, please let us know.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Marije
Thanks for your help. I was able to add my pictures by using the text widget as you suggested.
However I am unable to resize or crop them and apply colour to them using Picnik as this is where the problem started from.
I have quite a few pictures all in jpeg which I was wanting to resize or crop and make the colours a little lighter. This was when I discovered the problem when I came to upload them again and which never occured yesterday.

I guess I could manage for now if you may have a solution to the problem shortly.

Thanks again for your quick response, Marije.

Thanks Emmy Yes, just tried it again and works like a bomb and much quicker than previously too.
I must say I have never experienced such a speedy response and quality assistance from any company before as I have today with both you and Marije.

Yola has my vote all the way.
Thanks ladies!
