Try it in MS Publisher Alex. I use that to make my background transparent.

Hi Alex I know my way round Photoshop pretty well. I am actually creating a site about how to use it. Am I right in thinking that you want the pattern to be transparent allowing the white background to shine through (or anything else you lay the image on?) I would be happy to help you but I dont finish work for a while if you can wait that long.

Thanks
Stoo

Here is a thread on the subject of making images with transparent backgrounds here

http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/tak...

As your image is a PNG you will need to first convert it to GIF and then use the transparify feature to make your background transparent. Keep in mind the better the resolution or quality of your PNG before transfer will always make the resulting GIF better.

Happy site building

Hey Connor - not intentionally. For some reason, since yesterday, my username changed on me. I didn't do anything. I feel like I'm only half there! I posted on GS - hoping to get it fixed. Seems so weird just being "Little"!

Yep.. I've done that. It changes and it stays for awhile.. but then it reverts back to "Little" again. It's very strange. The Welcome, Littleus up at the top is correct.. just not everywhere else. Very frustrating.. cuz "Little" is just not me! Hopefully GS will have a fix for me.

Alex like I said if you have your initial PNG set to max quality but no more than 400KB then there is a great likelihood that the resulting GIF will be of excellent quality as well. PNG's are often quite large and GIF's when done right have great color and quality as well as transparency

I speak from ample experience when I say this...
