Can we please submit our own designs to be converted to CSS Styles?

  • Under Consideration
I've just had an idea. I understand that Yola is working on a feature that allows the user to upload and use their own CSS Styles/layouts for their websites. I also understand that this is going to take a lot of time to develop because it would need an extremely complex engine, but here's my idea:

I dunno maybe you guys have already thought about this but anyway. After looking at the Yola Design Community and the way the design submissions work (PSD design then Yola convert it to CSS) I got this idea. Would it be possible for Yola to provide a service that lets us submit (to them) our image PSD version of what we want, then Yola convert it to a CSS template on our user account for us to use in our websites?

I love Yola, and believe me, I think I've tried out about every single web builder online and offline alike but yola is still my favourite! Despite the seemingly endless possibilities, it's just a pity that it can sometimes be quite limiting as to what you can do :-)

I hope you understood what I meant in the above idea! Forgive me if it's quite a silly idea, because I'm sure you've probably considered that already and have valid reasons as to why it's not a feature at the moment.

Thanks again!

Hey Brandon

Yola doesn't currently support styles that can only be accessed by specific users.

I love the idea of allowing users to add their own styles, however coding a style from a PSD for an individual user only would be too expensive for us to do for free, and I'm not sure there is a large enough market for it to be viable for us (as a company) to do as a paid service (there's still a chance for it to be added to the public collection through the Yola Design Community, however this requires the style to meet certain criteria).

In the future we hope to implement a system that will allow users to add styles they've built in HTML and CSS to the site builder. In that ideal scenario they would be able to use the styles themselves or sell their styles to other users.

Thanks for the idea, and keep them coming :)
