Can we turn off the image manipulation associated with the banner?

I am seeing degradation of the image in the banner and it is affecting text within an image itself. The original is very clear as a png24 image but when it is added to the banner and goes through its modification the text is washing out.

If the image modification can be prevented then I think this issue will be fixed?

Hello again GOP,

If it's an image that you uploaded, then prior to uploading change the file properties
to Read-only. Of course you have to be happy with exactly how it is first. I don't know if this would mess things up when the image manipulating would kick in.
Something might lock-up, Ooops ...

Hi Frank,

Hadn't thought of something so clever. I will try this and let you know.
Thank you again.

I tried the file attributes to read-only and used it as a banner image. It processed it as normal so I'm concluding that it can over-ride the attributes(?)

What I have done in the meantime is intensify the image and though it reduces some of the smoothness it is not washing it out beyond the ability to see the text included.

I didn't think it would be able to change the attibutes, maybe it can for security reasons. I was also now thinking that by changing the attributes of files you upload it would also be a extra layer of security . From the likes of hacker s and such.

Oh well... guest we will find out,
