If I place a photo widget and select browse, only the first few rows of stored pix show. the search box is gone. the scroll bars are gone.

Glad to see you're still around, hope all is well with you.

Cool. Yall are usually quick on these rare quirks.

I found as a temp fix, just upload the image again, let it replace the original, and anywhere that file was, it will resize accordingly and replace. good thing I keep a folder of all pix uploaded. works for now.

guido's words of wisdom for the day: back up your backups.

p.s. and way to get the old text control switched back on for new sites? I've moaned about this before, you have any magic? or please talk to the boss man about this, it's really a problem. been with yall since synthasite, and having to build my client's sites elsewhere saddens me.

Hello Guido

I'm glad to hear you found a workaround to fix the problem you're experiencing. We'll stay tuned with fixing the technical issue.

When you say "get the old text control switched back on for new sites", do you refer to the old Text Widget? I'm afraid to let you know that the old Text Widget will never return, and for new sites only the new Text Widget is available. The old Text Widget was outdated and had to be replaced. We're still convinced that inline formatting which was possible with the old Text Widget to a high degree is not the best way to design your website. It's better to use the Styel Designer in order to set your design settings sitewide, which is what the new Text Widget is based on.

However, we understand that in some cases it makes sense to be able to edit particular formatting properties. You can already change the font colour inline in the new Text Widget from the Text Editing Toolbar, and you can set a different font formatting in the settings of the Custom Panel Widget if you place a Text Widget on top of it.

For the future we plan to offer CSS classes for more individual customization of particular Text Widgets. That said, we believe that using CSS settings for your design as opposed to individual HTML edits ensures much more professional and consistent website design, and therefore websites of a higher quality.

Hello Stefan,

You're talking to an artist! The rigid rules don't hold up for such designers. Their professional design constraints ignore rigidity.

My criticism is that such a non-flexible tool such as the Style Designer brings everyone down to the lowest common denominator and squashes simple creativity. The old widget was a dinosaur in the sense that it could leave bits of formatting code everywhere; it's functional objective on the other hand was ideal and is sadly missed.
