Currently I cant add any further widgets to an existing page, I need to add one more day's entry to it and it isn't allowing me to add anything, HTML, TEXT, Column Diverers, anything.

The page in question is www.rtb2oneperday.co.uk/8.php

But using the same browner I can add what ever I want to www.rtb2oneperday.co.uk/9.php

I have cleared the cache ect, but it cant be that as;
1. It has made no difference.
2. I can add stuff to empty pages.

Any ideas?

Hi Rob

I am at a bit of a loss to know how to troubleshoot this further without looking at the page in the Sitebuilder. Can you tell me if the problem with this page only started recently? If so, can you remember what the last thing is that you added to the page?

Also, if you can tell us what browser and browser version you are using, that would be helpful.

I might need to ask you to email us directly at support@yola.com if the answers to the above questions don't give us any clues.

The last thig added were the entries for August 30th. Have you delevered more "new features"? I notices the icons attached to the cursor seem to have changed during drag and drop.

If so then perhaps that's a starting point. Sorry but I had image not showing erros a few days ago and had to play catch up, now I can't add widgets. Keeping this project site upto date is crutial.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for giving us a bit more information. If I am understanding you correctly, you are not able to add widgets to your page. Can you tell me what page you are trying to add them to on your site and what happens when you try to add them. Do they not drag from the Sidebar, do they drag onto the page and then not stick, or do you receive some type of error message. We need to try to replicate what you are seeing so the steps you are taking, and what happens after you take them would be so helpful. Can you also let me know what browser and version you are using.

Thanks so much for working with us on this, we'll get it worked out!

More investigation!

I can add widgets to www.rtb2oneperday.co.uk, but not towards the foot of the page. Place a widget at the top no problem. Below the entry for the 30th no way. Same issue exists on pages 7.php 6.php 5.php 4.php 3.php 2.php 1.php, but not 9.php 10.php and the other unpopulated holding pages. Have you introduces some form of max widgets per page limit without telling anyone perhaps?

This is what happens. Should I for instance select a column divider widget. I click and drag no issue. If i release the mouse button near the top of the page the widget falls into place and becomes active. If I try to place it near the foot of the page when I release the mouse button the widget icon remains attached to the cursor and follows it around. It will not fall into position and become active.

Rob.

p.s Since your last major update a couple of weeks ago, the site builder performance/speed has fallen quite noticeably.

More experiments. I have tried my other Yola site www.rtb2walks.co.uk, whilst I can add widgets to pages on this site, positioning them is a gueesing game as the widget drop position is not aligned with the cursor (infact it is some distabce below and to the right.

Surely you must have changed someting somewhere.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for providing that information. An engineer and I have been looking at this, and this appears to be a bug.

If you are not able to drag to the bottom of your page, you should be able to click on the very last widget on the page and then double click on the widget on the Content Sidebar that you want to add. However, that is not working in all cases.

We are going to be looking at this more today and I will update you a bit later with our progress. Thanks so much for your patience.

Glad you are looking into it as I am having big problems with drag and drop on my site http://www.quickloadgames.com

I use a lot of column dividers and thumbnail pictures on my home page and and am now finding it impossible to drag either of these into the correct position since your recent update. Anyway, I'll leave your engineers to it!

Hi Marky,
I'm sorry to hear you are also having this problem. Can you try adding the widgets using the double click method. Click on the widget on the page that you want the new widget to go underneath, then double click on the widget on the Content Sidebar and it should drop into place. Let me know how this goes for you.

Thanks,
Emmy

Yep, everything is working again for me, too! A little "sticky" on the home page, but maybe that's because I have a lot of column dividers. Lightning fast on other pages, though. Anyway, Thank you Emmy for your help :)
