Cant make my domain my primary domain or remove the subdomain from the address bar

I bought a domain name from go daddy and forwarded it to yola subdomain and masked it. This has worked but I still see the subdomain name. It says my site is published to both domain and subdomain. When I go to domains and the advanced settings it only lists the subdomain as the primary domain. I cant change this. It has no option of the other. If I try and configure the extrenal domain it says that it is already in use. It wont let me add or edit it. (I added it earlier but something went wrong and it seems to have disappeared and wont let me add it again.)

I cant seem to understand why yola says I have to have the A host on the godaddy website as the yola ip address, yet godaddy says I have to have this set as this ip address 64.202.189.170. Neither seem to work for what I want! I tried to set 2 of the A settings with the yola IP address but it wouldn’t let me. So I only have the one at the moment.
So right now, my yola editing site says the website name is www.lauraanndunks.com, yet if I type this in I get http://lauraanndunks.yolasite.com At the front im my sites it list both domain names. If I go into the domains area, and into the advance part, it tells me my primary address is the subdomain and although the domain is listed, there is no option of changing it.

Hi Laura,

I am sorry that this has been so frustrating for you. There are a few things that need to be done, then we can get this fixed up for you.

First, you do not need to do any masking or forwarding, all you need to do is set up A Records to point towards our ip address. If you could go into your account at GoDaddy and remove any masking/forwarding, and just add A Records, that will take care of the first problem.

For the second issue of assigning a primary domain, currently it is not possible from the Advanced Domain Settings to assign a primary domain if this domain is not purchased from Yola, we are working on a fix for this. However, not to worry, we can take care of making this change for you.

If you can make the change in your GoDaddy account for the A Records, we can then fix setting the primary. If you need specific help with this, can you please contact GoDaddy and ask them to remove any masking/forwarding that you have done, and then you can go back in and follow these instructions for setting up the A Records: Configuring your GoDaddy domain.

Once this is complete, please email support@yola.com and we will take are of setting up the primary for you. Let me know if you have any questions at this time.
