Can't open my site to maintain it

Hi,
I'm having problems opening my site to maintain it. After signing on I click the Open button, get the synthasite is opening message then a double pop-up with the message: "Your session has expired. Please log in again to renew it". This happens intermittently and the only way to get further is to completely restart the computer: I've tried deleting all Explorer temporary files, history and cookies, but this doesn't clear the problem. There is another thread on this topic entitled "I could not reach my manage page", but no solution is mentioned.

Hi andycanal,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this problem. Can you try using a different browser or computer and let us know whether that works at all?

Hi Marije,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I've had the same experience with two computers. I don't know about different browsers. I'm beginning to think that the need to restart the computer was a red-herring. After trying several times this morning I just waited for an hour and then I could open the site - could the problem be contention on the server? As I said it's intermittent. I have a screen print of the problem, but I can't quite see how add an attachment to this message.

Have you checked your internet connection?

Hi Ruth,
Yes, I haven't experienced any other problems with my internet connection and I'm getting between 4.0mb and 4.5mb actuals on an 8mb broadband service: apparently this is relatively good for the UK. I never have a problem getting into my site directly, but opening the site in the Synthasite builder is often problematic. The normal situation is that I get the message "loading Synthasite" and nothing happens: finalIy I click refresh and then the site builder loads. Then every so often going through this sequence I get the message "Your session has expired. Please log in again to renew it" and the site builder will not load. Then I know I have to give up for while.
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for the suggestion.
My settings were already in line with the guidance in the link you sent me. This means that my Explorer should only be:
- blocking third party cookies that do not have a compact privacy policy;
- blocking third party cookies that save information that can be used to contact me without my explicit consent
- restricting first party cookies that save information that can be used to contact me without my explicit consent.
However, I adjusted my settings to "always allow" all Synthasite cookies: then opening my site in the site builder went through much more smoothly than usual.
Because the problem I was getting was intermittent, I'll keep the IE settings this way and see how it works out for the next week or so.
It worries me a little that Synthasite's cookies are invasive enough to need this action - is there a reason for this?
As ever, thanks for your help: I continue to be impressed with Synthasite and particularly your responsive support service.
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy,

I'm glad to hear that your site is loading better. I'm not sure about the cookies, this is something I'll need to ask the engineers and get back to you on.

Here is the SOLUTION...

open a browser and go to MyYahoo.com on the main Yahoo website...

then: signOUT and then signBACK IN

now when you go to sitebuilder your update should work...

just takes a few seconds to "signout" of MyYahoo and then "sign back in!"

...the problem is Yahoo's "sign in" to your account seems to be buggy... when your sharing networks, and switching browsers a lot... like I'm constantly doing this...AND EACH MORNING I HAVE HAD THE "SITEBUILDER" UPDATE problem showing me "my session has expired"...

this should work, I've tested it on multiple computers, running diff ops, networked or non-networked... IT WORKS EVERY TIME FOR ME...

regards,

flashrob (my website: dimestop.com)

Hi flashrob,
What makes you think I'm using Yahoo?
