I am having trouble moving files into a folder. I found a thread that showed the directions as well as the tutorial to do this, but it still is not working for me.

http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/mov...

I tried the directions above, but I never see "paste". I only see: Clear selection, copy, rename, delete and download as zip, choices, but no "paste".

thanks

Hi Rod,

You can only do this process from within the File manager. meaning that you can only copy and paste while you are actually there . You can't copy a file by this method from outside the file manager to a location within the file manager.

Hi Rod,

Did you right click on the file, click "Copy", go to the folder you wish to paste it to, right click (on the empty space), and then click "Paste"?

Also, were any files selected when you tried right clicking to paste? If so, that is probably why, because if it says "Clear selection", "Copy", "Rename", "Delete", and "Download as zip", that would mean that files must have been selected unless there is a bug in the file manager.

Here's a screen recording that I just made, it works fine for me: http://screencast.com/t/Er5ME1CjEaXc Did you do the same thing I did in the screen recording?

I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or resurrect this one.  For the past couple of months, I am not able to copy & paste folders, especially if they have sub-folders.  I have to create a new duplicate destination folder, then select, copy, and paste individual files into the new folder.  I'm not able to copy and paste whole folders. (Sorry if I'm not making sense :)

Hello Farragio,

It is not possible to copy a whole folder. You will need to open up that folder and then copy all the files within that folder. Then, create a new folder and then paste your copied files into that folder.

I hope the clears up the confusion! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Ah! That makes sense then.  I could have sworn I was able to previously but must not be remembering correctly.  Thanks for the clarification.
