I posted to my blog this morning and it worked fine. I just tried to post something else and the entire blog layout shifted. Luckily I didn't publish. Basically the posts are now as wide as the page and everything on the right side of the page shifted to the bottom. I deleted the post and everything went back to normal. Then I tried again and again the layout changed. I tried posting something else and no matter what I try to post it keeps messing up the entire page. So basically I can't post to my blog anymore, which is the whole purpose of my site. Please help ASAP

Thanks,

Nancy

Hi stretchthatles,

I'm guessing here.

Are you posting content directly from another source? If so this can bring in some mis-interpreted formatting that can upset the layout.

To resolve this copy it as normal and then paste it into Notepad and then copy it from Notepad and paste this into your blog.

Hi stretchthatles,

Following on from what Gop said, this type of problem can definitely be caused by pasting text from a program such as MS Word.

When you copy and paste rich text directly from word processing programs into your blog, this brings along a whole lot of unwanted formatting that is not web friendly and can easily break your page. To avoid this, following Gop's steps by stripping the formatting is what we always recommend.

It's also always a good idea to keep a copy of your text in a .txt file from Notepad so that you have a backup copy kept on your PC.

You can also fix your problem in your blog page by following these steps:

1. In your Sitebuilder, click on your blog post title.
2. Copy the text in your blog post and paste into Notepad.
3. On the blog's Text Editing Toolbar, click on the HTML button.
4. Delete all the existing text and code.
5. Copy the text from Notepad and paste into your blog post editor.
6. Use the blog's Text Editing Toolbar to format your text as desired.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I have tried all of the fixes and the problem still exists. I have taken every blog post (even ones that I know weren't typed in MS Word) and copied it into Notepad. Then I cleared everything out of the HTML section in site editor and pasted the post from Notepad back into the blog. I also took out the text in the CSS. Still it is doing the same thing. It has been a week now since I have been able to post anything on my blog, which is my sites main purpose. What do I do now?

Thank you,

Nancy
