I think I found a way to change the backround on several page at one time. I've did this in the "clean slate" style. You can change the backround from say black to white on all pages at once.
First the orginal color of backround is black and identified as a black image name "black.jpg" under it
Second The new backround color is being change from "black" (black.jpg) to White (white.jpg) Upload the new color and rename it from white.jpg to black.jpg A warning will appear saying that file already exsist and do you want to replace it click YES.
Third find the original color black (black.jpg) file and delete it. This will leave the new black.jpg which is white there and the orginal that you deleted gone. The colors will change by themselves at this point.
Update your site and the pages will change. If you have several page it may take a little time for all to change but they will shortly. You can also refresh the page and they will change at that point. Be patient they will change on there own.

If your not sure this will work set up a practice site with a few page in the same syle that you are using to resemble the site you are going to mass replace backround colors on. After you get it working then do it on your site and don't forget to delete the practice site.

Great idea. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. If you overwrite the image file, all instances of that file on your site should change automatically.
