My site used to be called death-note.synthasite.com and now i want to change it to animestarr.synthasite.com.
But if I do this, is it possible for me to do something, so when people type in my old sites URL which is death-note.synthasite and be redirected to my new one???

Hi TheNext Kira,

There is no redirect if you change from one .synthasite.com subdomain to another.
I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.

Couldn't you republish the site under the new name, then build a simple page under the old name with a link to the new site? I have the same issue.

Hi cynthia b,

Actually, this is possible now if you have a .synthasite.com subdomain? Do you still have one? The thing is, if you have a .synthastie.com subdomain you can change it to a .yolasite.com subdomain and the old .synthasite.com subdomain will automatically redirect to it. Do you have a .synthasite.com subdomain that you want to change to a new subdomain? If so I can give you more instructions on how to do this. If not, let me know what your situation is and I will see what ideas I can give you.

Hi Emmy,
I am planning on changing my subdomain to a domain and understand that it will be automatically redirected. However, I know that in a couple of years when I expand the services of my business, I will probably want to change to a different domain name. Is it possible to have an automatic redirect in that situation? If not, what other options are there? This may impact what name I choose now. Thanks!

Hi Cynthia,
Yes, it is possible to redirect one top level domain to another if you choose to change your domain name in the future.

SO How do I do that -- I'd like to change my domain name but have people who go to the old domain redirected. Thanks!

Hi Robin,
If you have more than one domain name purchased from Yola you will be able to assign the domains to your site and choose which is the primary, and then the other domain names will redirect to it. Here is a link with more information: Assigning domains and creating a primary.

I hope this information is helpful!

Kind Regards,
Emmy
