Changing layouts deleted some data?

Has anyone lost information, pics and text from their site?
I just tried changing layouts on various pages and some pages don't change the same way but are squashed up and on one page one column disappeared completely. Does that mean you can't change a page layout after you have made the page?
And is there any way to revert to an older version of a site or to the published site which still looks OK? Or will I have to put all this info back again manually?

Hi Paul,

This is a problem at this time. You will need to rebuild what you cannot see recovered.

Hi Paul,

If you haven't made any changes, simply returning to your original style should restore your pages back to their published version.

You can absolutely change styles after your page has been built but due to variations in the width and design of each style it is normal that you need to make adjustments in your website design to accomodate for your new style choice. Should you wish to avoid this, reverting to your original style is your best bet.

I found reducing the size of the pictures was enough to allow the new page layout to take the shape I was hoping for. Thanx for your help.
Cheers
