Hello Healthhaarmonics,

If you are familiar using HTML it is possible to change those things.

If you are inexperienced it has turned out to be quite a dangerous procedure. If you make a very small mistake in the code it can literaly break your site. For this reason it's not something that's widely publicised.

I'm not trying to be coy about this but it's devastating if you break your site. There is no recovery.

There are more than 70 styles available in the selection I would look at this first. There is likely to be an alternative.

Good luck with this

Hi Healthharmonics

I would suggest using Picnik. They have an awesome tool to make a picture banner. You just upload your pictures to Picnik and then click on "collage". There you will see a bunch of different ways to make a photo banner.

Have fun! =)

It would be very helpful to have color, font and size selection capability for the Banner text and the Menu text.

For example, if I start with the template CleanSlate, and I change the banner to a dark background image, the default text is in Black and will not show up.

The same applies for templates where I can change the background image.

Thanks

Hi Pablo,

Tha's a good suggestion and your example is a good illustration of the need.

There is a workaround for the interim.

If you clear the page heading for this affected page, you can then use an image editor to add the text in any font, colour etc. This will work for a banner but is not so appropriate for full page background. In that case I would consider creating a banner for each page with the heading added to the image.

Thanks, Peter. That work around will work for the Banner.

It's not as easy for the Menu though, as the text is generated automatically.
Sometimes, I may want to change the font so as to match the rest of the page.

If I set up my own menu, I will end up with dead space on the page, which I would really like to avoid.

I would like the visitor to get the maximum information from the first page load, as some visitors don't have the time to scroll down, on every page before they get the information from the page.

Incidentally, another feature I would like to see is the ability to customize the height of the banner section, again to maximize the information space on first load.

Another great suggestion Pablo.

For this sort of stuff I tend to pick a style with an open format and high placed menu position. Kill the auto menu.

The rest of the page is your palette.:)
