Hi SarahS

Another member requested the very same thing not that long ago and I wrote a tutorial, changed the code to work with Synthasite and have the necessary image for you to download here

http://honeybearplayhomes.synthasite....

It's really quite simple if you follow the instructions

Happy site building

Hi, i've tried this but it won't work, is this because my url isn't a synthasite one. Also do i do anything else with the snow flake image other than upload it to file manager. Thanks

Hi Sarah,

Whether or not your site has a SynthaSite URL will have no relation to why the code isn't working for you.

Ed has more expertise on this piece of code than I do, so I suggest sitting tight and waiting for his response.

Ruth glad you brought this thread up as I didn't see it...

Hi Sarah

Could you post your URL so that I might look at your page source and see if you edited the code correctly? I am sure I can get it working for you.

The snowflake if in your file manager and the code edited and inserted into an HTML widget should work flawlessly.

We will get it working for you...

Hi Sarah

Hmmm I cannot seem to see where it is that you inserted the code...

As well I cannot locate your synthasite URL I wonder do have your site hosted elsewhere?

Could you put the snowflake image on your website at the bottom of your index page because then I can right click on the snowflake and find the URL and all the info I need to edit the code.

Hi Ed, I inserted the code at the bottom of the index page but because it didn't work i deleted it as it was actually showing on the page when i previewed it which didn't seem right, as customers would have been able to see it. I purchased the domain name from 123reg.co.uk but i have only used synthasite to build and publish the site as i have never built a site before. I will put the snow flake on the site for you. Thanks for your time and help. Sarah

I cannot do anything unless I know your Synthasite URL mysite.synthasite.com

With the URL that you have given I cannot see anything but the manchesterfencingandgates.co.uk/resources/snow.gif and with that I cannot change the code to make it work.

Please will you tell me whether you are still using the synthasite site builder and can submit your URL or are you simply uploading your site to an other server? (files and all)

I am at an impasse as I cannot proceed without this answer (URL).

I'm sorry Ed this is the first time i've built a site so am learning as i go along. I have only ever used synthasite to build the site, like i said earlier i purchased the domain name from another company and brought it over to synthasite. I have never actually used a synthasite url so not sure how i get this. Maybe it won't work like i said in my first message.

Thanks

Hi Ruth

Yes I did that months ago, it's up and running fine, it's on google and adwords. I just thought the christmas theme would be nice but i might just forget the idea.

Thanks anyway.

I can see your site when I click on the link you provided. I think Ed is asking if you are using the SynthaSite site builder to edit the site.
I hope you can work it out.

No worries... I really want to help you do something on your site that gives it that added touch that you wish to achieve. You are my mission so to speak and I hope I can get you figured out soon ;)

Here is what I am referring to. You can see by the picture that when I update my site you can see my domain and my Synthasite website URL below it.

When you update your own site could you click on the URL that has the yoursite.synthasite. com

Then copy the URL in your browser and post it here.

Sadly I will not be able to get to it today as it is the anniversary of my mothers passing but know that I will get to it as soon as I can...

Hi Ed
Thanks for trying to help me with this but when I update my site as you have above, the only url that shows is the one i've given you, it doesn't list a synthasite one. This is the way it's been since I first published the site and I'm not sure how to display my synthasite url. Maybe it has deleted it when I brought over my own domain name from another site.

Chat to you soon

Er, I have a problem now with this code. Well actually, its the snowflake image

I copied from your Yola Site instructions, I saved the snowflake gif but my image has a black border around it. I tried to use photo editing software to get rid of the black border, but it does not show-up on there.

Have I copied it wrong or something?

Give one of the falling snowflake themes on my holiday site a try...

http://tester2.synthasite.com/

Its an easy copy and paste of code without the need to mess around with images or flash files...

Hello tels7

Do you still have trouble with this? If so, please post your URL so that we can take a look at your code or take up Ed's suggestion (his stuff is always cool!)
