Could we get more templates that are church friendly. smooth, shiny and pretty... http://www.cloversites.com is a good example of what I mean. I'm not saying flash template but something more along the line of smooth, shiny, pretty, clean... and the new site builder is really nice. Thanks Yola team.

These are nice. Which one do you like in particular? I'm a bit busy right now but I plan to try my hand at another Yola style in the future. Also, I'm betting these could be duplicated by hand using plain styles like Squeaky Clean, No Frills, Burlap, etc. A lot of graphics work though...

Hi Margie,

Wow, that video does show some really slick sites!

We are currently working on adding a wider variety of styles/templates with more customization options.

Currently you can change the banner image, color palette and background image on many of our styles. We want to make more options available like this, and one of our future plans is to allow you to develop your own CSS style if this is something that interests you. However, this functionality is going to take significant engineering on our part, so it is still a little ways into the future. In the meantime I hope you can find a style to suit your needs.

This tutorial may help you: Personalize your Style. You may also be interested in this link: Yola Style Guide. It has a handy filter function for you to see which style you might like. You can also check out this site forsite.synthasite.com, where one of our Yola users has added a page to his site comparing our styles.

Finally you may want to check out a couple sites we think did a great job of customizing a Yola template for their church sites.

Palma Ceia Methodist Church

St. Paul's Anglican Church

Emanuel Baptist Church

Hi-

One really clean style is the one I use for my own site, it's called Fresh Kiwi Splash. You can customize it as well, and it has a very clean look to it.

Hey I just saw this interesting site with really nice church/ministry templates... Maybe one day someone will see this post and design some templates like these for Yola in the future. It would be so nice. http://www.steeplesites.com/designs

Hi Margie, I checked out the link you posted - there are some nice examples of templates there.

However, don't forget that it's possible to achieve a nice looking website by customizing Yola templates. I decided to use an all white background for my site http://www.xtolz.com because it works best with the artwork I am displaying. There are a range of customization options if you start with the right template - the template I use is Clean Slate.

Yeah I know... It's just that church templates are usually a little bolder ... and I mean that they have medium size banner. logo placed to the right or left above a banner and a place for Text heading-- for the name... Then more space within the webpage for videos, text and medium large pics. I like the navigational menu below the banner or on the right side of the page. I use "tastelessy" for a template.. it's pretty spacious. I like no frills but I don't like the navigation menu at the top-- and yes I know I can take off the navigation menu and code my own buttons or just use text and hyperlink it. "Clean Slate" is nice but the banner is so small on it. I like the bigger banner. "Squeaky Clean" is nice too, but the menu is up at the top.

I'm hoping that in the next 6 months to year, that Yola will have more templates with a little more modern navigational menus. the tabs are ok but something more square and black would be nice.

I love Yola! It has one of the best site builders that I have seen so far and I've tried a few. I believe that good things come to those who wait.

Thanks for the ideas on Church/Ministry sites it helps. I did my site on yola by adapting one of the free sites. I also spent the extra 17 bucks for the domain name I am at http://www.christianfreedomministry.com Check it out and give me some advice, constructive criticism. Thanks Rev Steven Potts
