Clever External Menus

I am trying to make a clever external menu.

Is there a way to do this that works? If not, I think that if you guys made an external menu option that would be great, this is what I mean:

I made an iframe from a google doc, the google doc has links to different pages in my site. That way I can have different menus in different sections of my website, but when I want to update a menu section all I have to do is change the google doc and it will automatically be updated on all the pages that have the iframe, so I can make changes over all my pages once they are set up with a specific document.

the problem is that it opens the site inside the iframe, so its kina useless

Here is the example, the menu looks not pretty, but I can make it look good cause I can change the colour in google docs and adjust the size etc. but for now this is just an example... visit this link and cick on the about link, you will see what I mean.

This is helpful sometimes, for example when I have documents only that I want the user to navigate, they can go from document to document inside the iframe which is GREAT, but it wont navigate around the site.

SO, my suggestion/question is this, can i make a link that will go outside of the iframe?

and ... can yola add an external menu option like this to make our life so much easier to change specific menus throughout the site with out using the standard menu system... it helps with sections/sub menus which the standard one is not top helpful with.

Hope this makes sense, thanks for reading!

Hello reptileparty,

I am going to ask a colleague of mine to comment here and offer some suggestions. She's not currently online, but when she returns she will be able to take a look. Thanks so much for your patience.

Kind Regards,

Unfortunately in Google Docs there doesn't appear to be a way to create links that can be displayed outside the iFrame. The options in Google Docs are limited when creating links. It doesn't give you the option to add a target parameter to specify in which frame the link can be displayed.

Sorry I could not be of more assistance on this.
