Hello Jen

Hmm.. not sure how this is done. My initial thought is that they created a box with a blue transparent background and incorporated their logo right onto the box so that it's all one image.

Hopefully, others may be able to chime with suggestions. I'm looking forward to hearing people's responses!

You can do something like this by going to BannerFans Free Banned Maker at http://bannerfans.com.

It's free sign up , go to create banner, then choose size, and under gradient mode select the vertical box. When you get the right color you can add whatever content that you want. Make sure that you place the darker color in first box and lighter color in second box.

I did not mark this as Answered, Somehow it appeared as Answered! when it is still required. Can we re-post please so others may be able to also help. Tried above, but did not work as 'shrunk' to fit the normal favicon.
Any ideas??? thanks

Sorry JenC for prematurely marking this as answered. The "Answered" merely means that we have responded - it's our way to keep track internally of the post moderations. I have marked as unanswered for you.

This has to do with security. See this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/prod...
Hope this helps.

Diane, no not security thing. Just want it to be a larger favicon, like some sites visited have on theirs, one which is on yahoo in particular is the yahoo bar at top (left of yahoo wording, ) see:
https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?...
thanks J

Still a security feature--each browser is different. This is Firefox's version. Doesn't show at all in Safari. Look at Paypal's site which has a green version of the yahoo one--notice these are both https. The article on wikipedia may help:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_bar

Do you mean the green bar in the address bar before the full url? Check this site for an explanation: http://www.thegreenaddressbar.com/ind....

If that's what you're thinking of it shows only for htpps (secure) sites with extended validation.

ETA: just realized Diane already answered this with what I'm talking about here.
