How do I download my customers information to create a newsletter campaign? How do I add an opt in for newsletter button when people are placing orders on my site? I am going to be using mailchimp to start with.

My site is kazoodlesdesignstudio.com

Thanks!

Hello Diana,

The easiest way to offer an opt-in facility is through a form. The best form to use is JotForm since this form also allows you to send the customer details to a spreadsheet on Google Drive. The google drive file then can be imported automatically to MailChimp.

The information on the MailChimp requirements is in their support page: http://kb.mailchimp.com/category/gett...

You may also setup a Google Drive account: http://www.google.com/drive

There is also direct integration of JotForm data with MailChimp so that will reduce the steps significantly if you decide to go the form way. This would eliminate the need for Google Drive in the process.

Hi Diana,

At this time there isn't a facility to do this at checkout but it has been suggested and you may like to vote it up here: checkbox to subscribe for newsletter. Currently it only has a few votes so it may not be done in the near future?

There is a facility however, to return to a specific page of your site once the transaction is complete. This page would be perfect to add the form and should get a decent response.

Your customers email and other details are stored in your Online Store data and these are accessible. To access this:
Online Store → Advanced Options → Sales → Orders → ( navigate to the bottom of that page) → Export All.

Once the file is exported it can be opened in Excel or a similar spreadsheet or text editor and worked on from there.
