Conclusion: Unpublishing a subdomain does not redirect to the custom domain. Does the subdomain have to remain published to redirect?

I've come to the conclusion that unpublishing a subdomain and only keeping the custom domain DOES NOT redirect the site automatically, is this changeable?

I tested it with my printer friendly site since it wasn't that important to keep my subdomain.

my subdomain http://printerfriendly.yolasite.com (which is unpublished) DOES NOT reidrect to my new printer friendly version found at http://youcanneverbetoosmart.info. I don't care too much about redirecting these two sites, but I don't want to unpublish my other subdomain if it won't redirect. Is the only way for a redirect to work is to keep the subdomain published?

youll be scrolled back to the top
click advanced domain settings
then find the section for your site
and make your custom domain the primary one

Thanks John!

Yes Donald, for the subdomain to redirect to the custom you need to keep the subdomian published. Please follow John's instructions to make your custom domain the primary which will cause the subdomain to redirect to it.

yea, I know how to do it, I just thought it could be unpublished and still redirect, I wasn't sure how that worked. But thanks... I'll look at the settings and make sure they redirect.

My custom domain does not show up under advanced domain settings? I have a free account. Is that why? Also when I click the arrow button next to my subdomain under advanced domain settings, nothing happens.....
